Midnight Special Trailer – Michael Shannon & Joel Edgerton protect a child with special powers

19th November 2015 By Tim Isaac

midnight-special-pic1-slideAfter indie hits Mud and Take Shelter, director Jeff Nichols heads in a slightly more mainstream direction with Midnight Special.

Michael Shannon, Joel Edgerton, Kirsten Dunst and Adam Driver star in the movie, which follows a ‘A father and son who go on the run after the dad learns his child possesses special powers’.

The new trailer seems to want to keep things rather mysterious, while giving off a slightly Amblin vibe (which seems to be what Nichols was going for, as he’s compared his film to the likes of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. and Starman),

The movie will be in UK cinemas next April. [Read more…]

Dirty Grandpa Red Band Trailer – Zac Efron & Robert De Niro get a little bit naughty

19th November 2015 By Tim Isaac

Dirty-Grandpa-pic1-slideA couple of weeks ago we had a trailer for Dirty Grandpa, but now the red band version is here to let us know that Robert De Niro is going to swear a lot in the finished movie, and that Zac Efron’s CGI undies from the first promo won’t be around in the final article.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Jason Kelly [Zac Efron] is one week away from marrying his boss’s uber-controlling daughter, putting him on the fast track for a partnership at the law firm. However, when the straight-laced Jason is tricked into driving his foul-mouthed grandfather, Dick [Robert De Niro], to Daytona for spring break, his pending nuptials are suddenly in jeopardy.

‘Between riotous frat parties, bar fights, and an epic night of karaoke, Dick is on a quest to live his life to the fullest and bring Jason along for the ride. The Huntsman: Winter’s War Trailer – Chris Hemsworth & Charlize Theron head back to a fantasy world

18th November 2015 By Tim Isaac

huntsman-winters-war-character-poster5-slideAfter some character posters a couple of days ago (and some new ones you can see above and below), comes the trailer for the sequel, The Huntsman: Winter’s War. Snow White (Kristen Stewart) is gone, but both Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron are back, joined by Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The fantastical world of Snow White and the Huntsman expands to reveal how the fates of The Huntsman Eric and Queen Ravenna are deeply and dangerously intertwined. Chris Hemsworth and Oscar® winner Charlize Theron return to their roles in The Huntsman Winter’s War, an epic action-adventure in which they are joined by Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain, as well as director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. Producer Joe Roth (Maleficent, Alice in Wonderland) once again leads the team in a breathtaking new tale nested in the legendary saga.

‘Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen—including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain)—only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love.

‘When Freya learns of her sister’s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it’s ever seen. Now, their amassing army shall prove undefeatable…unless the banished huntsmen who broke their queen’s cardinal rule can fight their way back to one another.’

The movie hits UK cinemas April 22nd. [Read more…]

Zoolander 2 Trailer – Ben Stiller & Owen Wilson are being beautiful once more

18th November 2015 By Tim Isaac

zoolander-2-poster1-slideIt’s been a long wait, but Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson back in male model mode for Zoolander 2, and now we have the first full trailer for the movie.

The duo are beginning to realise that they aren’t as young as they once were – something that is pretty much fatal in their profession – and also that the world of fashion has changed from the one they once knew. That includes Benedict Cumberbatch as a model who goes beyond androgynous.

There is a problem though, someone is out killing celebrities including Demi Lovato, Usher, Justin Bieber, Lenny Kravitz, and Miley Cyrus, all of whom have died with one of Derek Zoolander’s signature looks on their face.

Kristen Wiig (who’s almost unrecognisable) and many more star.

Take a look at the trailer below, and expect the movie in cinemas on February 12th, 2016. [Read more…]
