New Suspiria Trailer – Tilda Swinton & Dakota Johnson star in the intriguing remake

23rd August 2018 By Tim Isaac

Ever since it was first hinted there might be a remake of Dario Argento’s classic 1977 horror movie Suspiria, people have been grumbling that it shouldn’t be touched. However, it appears from the new trailer for Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino’s new take on the story is keen to show this will be a very different film. And it’s potentially a very interesting one.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘As a darkness builds at the center of a world-renowned dance company, its artistic director (Tilda Swinton), a young American new to the troupe (Dakota Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Lutz Ebersdorf) become entangled in a bloody, sighing nightmare.’

The movie will debut at the Venice Film Festival, before arriving in US cinemas in late October/early November. No UK release date has currently been finalised. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

New Fifty Shades Freed Trailer – It’s not all wedded bliss for Jamie Dornan & Dakota Johnson

2nd January 2018 By Tim Isaac

The acting was terrible, the plot virtually non-existent and they weren’t even particularly sexy, but between them, the first two Fifty Shades films pulled in over $900 million at the global box office. Now to finish things off we’re getting Fifty Shades Freed, which it appears might actually have a storyline.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Freed, the third chapter based on the worldwide bestselling “Fifty Shades” phenomenon. Expanding upon events set in motion in 2015 and 2017’s blockbuster films that grossed almost $950 million globally, the new installment arrives for Valentine’s Day 2018.

‘Fifty Shades Freed is directed by Fifty Shades Darker’s James Foley (Fear) and once again produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Marcus Viscidi, alongside E L James, the creator of the culture-spanning blockbuster series. The screenplay is by Niall Leonard, based on the novel by James.’

Fifty Shades Freed Trailer – Jamie Dornan & Dakota Johnson are in the Red Room as man & wife

Fifty Shades Freed Teaser Trailer – Jamie Dornan & Dakota Johnson are at it again

12th September 2017 By Tim Isaac

The Fifty Shades movies might have been a bit rubbish, but they’re certainly been very profitable. While the promise of lots of kinky, boundary pushing sex was never really fulfilled, the film have at least provided plenty of shirtless Jamie Dornan, which many have appreciated. The first teaser trailer for the third film, Fifty Shades Freed, wants to assure us the Jamie’s chest will still be on display this time around.

There’s also going to be a wedding, although things aren’t going to be running smoothly for Anastasia and Christian. Although whether there will be an actual plot this time around is yet to be seen.

Our Score

Oh, dear God. How do you manage to make a film that’s supposedly about kinky sex be this boring?

At the end of Fifty Shades Of Grey, the timid Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and her S&M-obsessed billionaire paramour, Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), had parted company. However, it doesn’t take long until they’re back together, with Christian promising he loves Ana enough that he wants to be her partner rather than her master. She isn’t sure, but they start dating again, and are soon negotiating a different kind of contract than the last movie. It’s a more unspoken one where they attempt to create a more equal relationship, despite Christian’s issues and ‘boundaries’ (which handily you can literally paint on him in lipstick). [Read more…]
