American Made Trailer – Tom Cruise is going deep undercover

6th June 2017 By Tim Isaac

Tom Cruise is gonna have a busy summer, as he’s in cinemas this week with The Mummy, and then in a couple of months he’s back with American Made. The trailer and poster for the latter movie has now arrived.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In Universal Pictures’ American Made, Tom Cruise reunites with his Edge of Tomorrow director, Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith), in this international escapade based on the outrageous (and real) exploits of a hustler and pilot unexpectedly recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in U.S. history. Based on a true story, American Made co-stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, E. Roger Mitchell, Jesse Plemons, Lola Kirke, Alejandro Edda, Benito Martinez, Caleb Landry Jones and Jayma Mays.’

Take a look at the trailer and poster below. American Made will be in UK cinemas on August 25th. [Read more…]

Joseph Kosinski May Direct Tom Cruise In Top Gun 2, Which Shoots Next Year

24th May 2017 By Tim Isaac

Several years ago there was talk of a sequel to Top Gun, but that was put on hold when the movie’s director, Tony Scott, died back in 2012. However, now the movie is back on, with Tom Cruise revealing that he’s hoping to shoot the sequel next year, and Variety now adding that a director may already have been found.

The current frontrunner for the director’s chair is Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski, who’s previously worked with Cruise on Oblivion, and whose latest firefighting movie, Granite Mountain, is due for release later this year. Tom has apparently been busy ensuring Top Gun 2 would be ready to shoot next year while he’s been filming Mission Impossible: 6, which included interviewing directors. It was apparently Kosinski’s vision for the movie that won out, although no offer has yet been made to the director.

Not too much is known about the plot, but the film ‘will be set in a world of drone technology and fifth generation fighters and explore the end of an era of dogfighting which made the original film so exhilarating.’ It’s also believe Val Kilmer will return as Iceman, opposite Cruise’s Maverick.

Final The Mummy Trailer – Tom Cruise needs a monster to defeat a monster

18th May 2017 By Tim Isaac

Universal has a lot riding on The Mummy, as they’re hoping they can rival Disney/Marvel and Warner/DC’s interconnected coming book universes, with a monster movie universe. They’re kicking that off with The Mummy, and they’ve got some a-list talent to help them, with Tom Cruise starring. Russell Crowe is also due to show up as Dr. Jeykyll/Mr. Hyde.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilisation: The Mummy.

‘Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension. From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

Cruise is joined by a cast including Annabelle Wallis (upcoming King Arthur, television’s Peaky Blinders), Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (TV’s American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson) and Oscar® winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator). The creative team on this action-adventure event is led by director/producer Alex Kurtzman and producer Chris Morgan, who have been instrumental in growing some of the most successful franchises of the past several years—with Kurtzman writing or producing entries in the Transformers, Star Trek and Mission: Impossible series, and Morgan being the narrative engineer of the Fast & Furious saga as it has experienced explosive growth from its third chapter on. Sean Daniel, who produced the most recent Mummy trilogy, produces alongside Kurtzman and Morgan.’

The film is due out in June. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

New The Mummy Trailer – Tom Cruise is up against the long-dead

Henry Cavill Signs Up For Mission: Impossible 6

17th March 2017 By Tim Isaac

Mission: Impossible 6 just got a little less impossible. After all, if you’ve got a man who can fly, stop speeding bullets and have x-ray vision on your team, it makes things easier. That said, although Variety reports that Henry Cavill has signed on to star, he probably won’t be playing Superman.

Instead, he will apparently be ‘would play some sort of a right hand to the head of Cruise’s unit’. Alec Baldwin had the head role in the last film, but its not been announced whether he will return. It also leaves open the possibility that Cavill may actually turn out to be a bad guy.

Vanessa Kirby was recently announced as one of Tom Cruise’s co-stars in the movie, with the likes of Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner also expected to return in some capacity. The movie is due to start shooting soon, for release July 2018.

The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby On For Major Role In Mission: Impossible 6

4th March 2017 By Tim Isaac

At one point it seemed like audiences were happy to see anything with Tom Cruise in it, but in recent years the only surefire hits he’s had are with the Mission: Impossible franchise. A couple of films ago, he was supposedly leaving the series behind, but then decided to stick around when several of his others films bombed, but people still couldn’t get enough of him as Ethan Hunt.

Now they’re busy putting together the sixth Mission: Impossible, which has just added Vanessa Kirby, best known for playing Princess Margaret in The Crown, to the cast. It’s not known exactly who she will play, but Variety suggests it’s a big role, in the same scale as Rebecca Ferguson’s part in Rogue Nation.

Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote and directed Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, is returning to do the same duties on the latest film. It’s due to start shooting next month, for release July 2018.
