Beatrix Potter’s tales have charmed people around the world for decades – but you have to wonder what she would think of this new take on her classic character Peter Rabbit. The new movie mixes live action and CGI, with a modern approach for the mischievous bunny, who here has the voice of James Corden.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter’s feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door (Rose Byrne). James Corden voices the character of Peter with playful spirit and wild charm, with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley performing the voice roles of the triplets, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.’
The movie will hit cinemas Easter 2018. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]
The acting was terrible, the plot virtually non-existent and they weren’t even particularly sexy, but between them, the first two Fifty Shades films pulled in over $900 million at the global box office. While there have been many movies in the last century that have been held up as the world film ever made. However, the one that’s made the strongest run for that title in the last 20 years is probably Tommy Wiseau’s 2003 movie The Room. Met with bemused derision and anger on its initial release, it fast became a cult sensation with audiences invited to marvel at just how dreadful it was.
In the 1990s Tonya Harding was a top figure skater, but rather than her achievments on the ice, she’s now mainly remembered for being linked to an attack on her rival, Nancy Kerrigan, who was her main competition on the US team. Margot Robbie is now bringing the story to life with I, Tonya, which has released its first full trailer.
The problem with a lot of the CG animated movies that aren’t backed by big studios and enormous budgets is that the end result looks a little shoddy. It’s great to see then a British/German independent production that both looks polished and as if it might be quite fun.
