Straight Outta Compton’s O’Shea Jackson Jr. In Talks For Godzilla: King Of Monsters

28th March 2017 By Tim Isaac

After the success of Godzilla and King Kong, Warner has high hopes for its planned monster mash-up, Godzilla vs. Kong, which is planned for release in 2020. A year before that, they’re expanding the Godzilla universe with Godzilla: King Of Monsters.

Millie Bobby Brown has already been cast in a major role, with Kyle Chandler and Vera Farmiga as her parents. Now they may have company from Straight Outta Compton’s O’Shea Jackson Jr. (aka Ice Cube’s son), who Variety reports is in talks for the movie.

Michael Dougherty is directing and also co-wrote the script for the movie with Zach Shields. It’s expected to shoot this year for release in March 2019. No specific plot or character details have been released, although it known the sequel will be introducing us to various other monsters, such as Mothra and Rodan. The only actor from Godzilla who’s likely to return for the sequel is Ken Watanabe as Dr. Ishiro Serizawa.

Vera Farmiga Will Be Millie Bobby Brown’s Mother In Godzilla: King Of The Monsters

1st March 2017 By Tim Isaac

After a much longer delay in getting the sequel to Godzilla ready than originally planned, they’re now fast pulling the cast together. A couple of weeks ago, Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown was the first announced to be starring in the film, followed by Kyle Chandler as he father a few days later.

Now Variety reports that she’s also got a mom, in the form of Vera Farmiga.

As the casting news so far suggests, it’s not expected that many of the cast members from the first movie will return for the sequel, although it has been suggested the likes of Charlie Day and Ken Watanabe may be back. The exact plot is being kept under wraps, but as the title suggest, while Godzilla will be the king, the sequel will be introducing us to various other monsters, such as Mothra and and Rodan.

Michael Dougherty is directing and also co-wrote the script for the movie with Zach Shields. It’s expected to shoot this year for release in March 2019. Then in 2020, we’re getting a real monster mash-up, with Godzilla Vs. Kong.

Kyle Chandler Up For Godzilla: King of the Monsters

23rd February 2017 By Tim Isaac

It’s taken a while, but things are now gearing up on the sequel to 2014’s Godzilla. The first cast member was revealed a couple of weeks ago when Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown was announced as part of the cast.

Now Variety reports that Kyle Chandler has joined her. Chandler is usually a good choice, having been great in everything from Friday Night Lights and Super 8 to Wolf Of Wall Street and the recent Oscar nominee, Manchester By The Sea.

It also shouldn’t be too much of a shock that he will be playing Brown’s father. The exact plot is being kept under wraps, but as the title suggest, while Godzilla will be the king, the sequel will be introducing us to various other monsters, such as Mothra and and Rodan.
