Kumail Nanjiani, Octavia Spencer & John Cena Join Robert Downey Jr. In The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle

29th March 2018 By Tim Isaac

Just over a year ago it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. was sett to follow in Rex Harrison’s (and Eddie Murphy’s) footsteps by playing Doctor Dolittle on the big screen. Now the cast has grown, with the likes of Kumail Nanjiani, Octavia Spencer & John Cena, who will be voicing animals alongside the previously announced Tom Holland, Selena Gomez, Emma Thompson, and Ralph Fiennes.

Antonio Banderas is onboard to play a pirate, with Michael Sheen as a character called Mudfly.

To help us picture who everyone in the voice cast will be, Downey Jr. tweeted out and image to show who’s a giraffe, who’s a dog and who’s a parrot. You can take a look at that image below.

The will be based around Hugh Lofting’s famous children’s character, a doctor who tires of treating animals and learns to speak to animals. There’s no news on the exact story for this new version, but it will involve the Doctor will be going off on a big trip. The film is due out April 2019 and is planned as the first part of a new film franchise. [Read more…]

The Current War Trailer – Benedict Cumberbatch’s Thomas Edison wants electrical supremacy!

8th September 2017 By Tim Isaac

The Current War has been doing the round in Hollywood for over five years, but it’s only now that it’s gone in front of the camera. The first trailer for the film has now been release, featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as the legendary Thomas Edison.

The movie takes place in the late-1880s and revolves around power titans Edison and George Westinghouse’s as they battle over who will control the supply of electricity in the US. Edison championed direct current (DC) for electric power distribution over Westinghouse’s alternating current (AC), which was backed by several European companies and Westinghouse Electric. It became an increasingly vicious public battle as each side tried to destroy confidence in the other.

Michael Shannon plays Westinghouse, with Katherine Waterston, Tom Holland, Matthew Macfadyen, Tuppence Middleton, and Nicholas Hoult as Nikola Tesla. [Read more…]

Final Spider-man: Homecoming Trailer – The web-slinger is back, with a little help from Iron Man

24th May 2017 By Tim Isaac

Synopsis: ‘A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.’

There’s a lot of excitement about the film, with many expecting it to cement Tom Holland’s reputation as a real star of the future. It’s also looking pretty cool from the new trailer and poster, which you can take a look at below.

New Spider-Man Tom Holland Will Take The Lead In Uncharted Adaptation

22nd May 2017 By Tim Isaac

For over eight years Hollywood has been trying to adapt the hit videogame franchise Uncharted, convinced it might be able to break the curse of game-to-film tranfers. In that time it’s been through numerous writers, directors and actors, all of whom have had a go and then left.

They haven’t given up though, and the latest to come onboard to star is Tom Holland, the young British actor who took the world of Marvel by storm as Spider-man in Captain America: Civil War and who will soon be taking on the role again in Homecoming. Holland will play Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie, which was originally being designed for an older actor.

Instead Sony (who are also behind Spider-man: Homecoming, of course) will now reconfigure the movie according to Deadline, to be a prequel to the treasure-hunting videogames, telling the story of ‘young thief Drake, and his first encounter with the professional rogue, Sullivan.’

Shawn Levy (Night At The Museum) is set to direct the movie, with Sony now looking for a new screenwriter to rework the script.

New Spider-man: Homecoming Trailer – Peter Parker has learned some lessons from Iron Man

28th March 2017 By Tim Isaac

The whole idea of Spider-man joining Marvel’s superhero universe has certainly been intriguing. It was a success with Captain America: Civil War, but now Sony is returning with its own Spidey movie starring Tom Holland, Homecoming. However, they deal between Disney and Marvel means they’re still bridging studios with the film, as it will feature Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark/Iron Man.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). The movie will be in cinemas this July. Enjoy the new trailer below. [Read more…]
