Jungle Trailer – Daniel Radcliffe gets lost in the Amazon

17th June 2017 By Tim Isaac

Since Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe has certainly been charting his own course, seemingly picking project he’s interested in rather than simply finding projects that are going to be enormous at the box office. It looks like he’s doing it again, with Jungle.

Based on Yossi Ghinsberg’s memoir, Radcliffe will plays a young adventurer who goes into the Bolivian jungle with two friends and a guide. Ghinsberg and his friend head off into an unchartered area of the AMazon with a man who promises them adventure and gold, however things quickly go wrong, with Yossi ending up being lost for three weeks in the middle of nowhere, not even knowing which way civilisation was.

Imperium (DVD Review)

6th November 2016 By Tim Isaac

imperium-slideStarring: Daniel Radcliffe, Toni Collette, Tracy Letts, Sam Trammell
Directed By: Daniel Ragussis
Running Time: 109 mins
BBFC Certificate: 15
UK Release Date: November 6th 2016

Our Score

Movies like Imperium always have difficulty finding a wide audience, largely because people often tend to actively avoid uncomfortable truths. The fact is that is you make a movie about Muslim terrorists – people who for many western audiences are part of an undifferentiated ‘them’ – they’ll watch it, but those same people will shy away from a movie about the realities of things such as white supremacism, because they don’t want to be confronted with the fact that as big a danger might come from those who are supposedly part of ‘us’.

In the film, Daniel Radcliffe is FBI Agent Nate Foster, who’s been working on Islamic fundamentalist terrorism until he’s pulled aside by Angela Zamparo (Toni Collette), who wants him to go undercover into the white supremacist movement. The FBI knows that six canisters of radioactive material has gone missing, and their biggest clue is that a neo-Nazi radio host, Dallas Wolf (Tracy Letts), appears to know more than he ought to about it. Now You See Me 2 (Blu-ray Review)

6th November 2016 By Tim Isaac

now-you-see-me-2-slideStarring: Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg, Lizzy Caplan, Woody Harrelson, Daniel Radcliffe
Directed By: Jon M. Chu
Running Time: 129 mins
BBFC Certificate: 12
UK Release Date: November 7th 2016 (UK)

Our Score

2013’s Now You See Me proved a far bigger hit than most people expected, which has ensured we’ve now got a follow-up. After their Robin Hood exploits in the first movie, illusionists The Horsemen have been in hiding, waiting for ‘The Eye’ to tell them what they should do next. They also have a new member, with Lizzy Caplan’s Lula joining Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Jack (Dave Franco) and Merritt (Woody Harrelson), along with their leader, FBI Agent Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo).

They get an assignment to take down someone who’s destroying personal privacy, but their comeback goes wrong when they’re hacked, kidnapped and taken to Macau, China. There they meet Walter Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe), who tells them that it was largely his money they stole in the first movie, and that they now have to do his bidding if they want to live. Swiss Army Man Red Band Trailer – Daniel Radcliffe’s farting corpse gets ruder

10th May 2016 By Tim Isaac

swiss-army-man-daniel-radcliffeSwiss Army Man is a film first, as it’s almost certainly the only movie in history that almost immediately become knows as the ‘farting corpse movie’. It’s also resulted in the most unlikely headline for a post I think I’ve ever written. The first trailer gave us a taste of just how bizarre and Daniel Radcliffe and Paul Dano movie was, and now that’s been amplified with a Red Band trailer.

It also gives us our first look at Radcliffe’s much talked about boner compass!

The film follows a castaway man (Dano), who has reached the end of his tether living alone when a corpse (Radcliffe) washes up on the island. The movie charts the growing relationship between the man and flatulent dead guy, which as you’ll see below, gets increasingly surreal and rather romantic.

Swiss Army Man is apparently a real audience divider, but it certainly looks intriguing. Expect to see it in cinemas later this year. And in case you’re wondering the scene right at the end is one that got many people talking, where Radcliffe is ridden like a jet-ski, powered by his farts! [Read more…]
