New Avengers: Infinity War Trailer – It’s all been leading up to this for the Marvel heroes & it’s looking epic

16th March 2018 By Tim Isaac

For a decade the threads that have woven between all parts of the Marvel Universe have been leading towards Infinity War. The evil Thanos (Josh Brolin) has been lurking on the edges, while various movies have involved what will be revealed to be the Infinity Stones.

And because of that, pretty much everyone is coming together or this film, including the Guardians Of The Galaxy, who’ve been almost stand-alone up until this point. The film will include Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Dave Bautista (Drax), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Pratt (Star Lord), Chris Evans (Captain America), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Paul Bettany (Vision), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Tom Holland (Spider-Man) and plenty more.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.’

The film hits cinemas April 2018. Take a look at the explosive new trailer below. [Read more…]

Chris Hemsworth May Join The Planned Men in Black Spinoff

1st March 2018 By Tim Isaac

For the past few years, Sony Pictures has been enviously eyeing the massive franchises other studios have built, to the point they were so keen for Spider-man to properly work out for them, they handed the reigns to Disney-controlled Marvel to help get it right. Their plan to rejuvenate Ghostbusters didn’t quite work out as they’d hoped, but now they’re panning to put one of the stars of that movie in a reboot of the Men In Black franchise.

Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, is in early talks to star in the movie, acording to THR. He would lead a brand new cast (Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith won’t be returning), with the other main character being a female of color and an older man, who would go on a worldwide adventure based in the undercover alien world of MiB.

There will be some behind-the-scenes continuity with the trilogy of movies that grossed over $1.5 billion, as Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald will once more produce, with Steven Spielberg taking executive producer duties again. F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, The Fate Of The Furious) is in talks to direct the movie, from a script by Iron Man’s Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. It should be in cinemas June 2019.

Avengers: Infinity War Super Bowl Spot – Marvel heroes from across the galaxy come together

5th February 2018 By Tim Isaac

Marvel/Disney decided that for its Avengers: Infinity War Super Bowl spot, all it needed to do was show just how many heroes its bringing together for the movie. There’s a sense that the 10 years since Iron Man have been leading to this, with the Avengers from earlier movies being joined by the likes of Doctor Strange and the Guardians Of The Galaxy to take on Thanos.

Avengers: Infinity War Trailer – It’s all been leading up to this for the Marvel heroes

New 12 Strong Trailer – Chris Hemsworth does modern warfare on horseback

22nd November 2017 By Tim Isaac

For hundreds of years horses were a central part of warfare. However, most of us would have thought that with all the tecknology and money at the disposal of the US military, they wouldn’t have much time for horses in combat anymore. However, 12 Strong (previously known as Horse Soldiers) tells the true tale of a group of US Special Forces who went into Afghanistan on horseback shortly after 9/11 in order to hunt Taliban terrorists.

Here’s the synopsis: ’12 Strong is set in the harrowing days following 9/11 when a U.S. Special Forces team, led by their new Captain, Mitch Nelson (Chris Hemsworth), is chosen to be the first U.S. troops sent into Afghanistan for an extremely dangerous mission. There, in the rugged mountains, they must convince Northern Alliance General Dostum (Nvid Negahban) to join forces with them to fight their common adversary: the Taliban and their Al Qaeda allies. In addition to overcoming mutual distrust and a vast cultural divide, the Americans—accustomed to state-of-the-art warfare—must adopt the rudimentary tactics of the Afghani horse soldiers. But despite their uneasy bond, the new allies face overwhelming odds: outnumbered and outgunned by a ruthless enemy that does not take prisoners.’

The film is due to hit cinemas early next year. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Running Time: 130 Minutes
UK Release Date: 23 October 2017
BBFC Certificate: 12A

Our Score

I have absolutely no problem with Disney churning out Marvel (or Star Wars) films as long as the quality is up to scratch. Thankfully, they are indeed on point with this third and possibly final Thor movie.

Thor: Ragnarok is set two years after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) – although that film’s events seemed more like a week rather than an age – and our hero Thor, the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth), is forewarned about Ragnarok: a prophecy that spells the destruction of his homeland of Asgard.
