New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer – Rey, Finn, Poe, Leia & Luke are striking back

10th October 2017 By Tim Isaac

We hadn’t heard about this film before, so we figure it needs every little bit of help it can get. I expect you’ll only be able to find it in tiny little art cinemas though when it’s released in December.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.

‘The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin are the executive producers.’

The Last Jedi will be in cinemas on December 14th. [Read more…]

Suburbicon UK Trailer – Matt Damon stars in the George Clooney directed dark comedy

21st August 2017 By Tim Isaac

The bromance between Matt Damon and George Clooney continues with Suburbicon, which Damon stars in and Clooney directs. To make sure it really is a bit of a love-in, the script comes from Clooney’s O Brother Where Art Thou? and Hail Caesar directors, Joel & Ethan Coen, with contributions from George and his longtime producing partner Grant Heslov.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Suburbicon’ is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns… the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. Suburbicon is this Autumn’s much-anticipated dark comedy, with a fantastic cast also including Julianne Moore, Oscar Isaac and newcomer Noah Jupe.’

Oscar Isaac and Julianne Moore also star. It’s due in US cinemas in October, with a late November 24th UK date set. Take a look at the British trailer below. [Read more…]

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Behind The Scenes Look – Get your latest fix from a galaxy far, far away

16th July 2017 By Tim Isaac

With Disney busy showing off its wares at the D23 Expo at Disneyland, one of the big things they’re hawking is, of course, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. To help get us excited for the next adventures of Rey, Finn, Poe, Luke Skywalker and co., a new behind-the scenes look has been released.

New The Promise Trailer – Oscar Isaac & Christian Bale deal with the Armenian Genocide

4th March 2017 By Tim Isaac

As Turkey still refuses to accept the Armenian Genocide happened – even though a full century has passed and historians have almost universally agreed it did take place – they’re probably not going to be happy with The Promise. However, the film isn’t just about the genocide, as it also takes in the fact the Ottoman Empire is in its last days, and throws in a love triangle too.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘It is 1914. As the Great War looms, the vast Ottoman Empire is crumbling. Constantinople (Istanbul), its once vibrant, multicultural capital is about to be consumed by chaos. Michael Boghosian (Oscar Isaac), arrives in the cosmopolitan hub as a medical student determined to bring modern medicine back to Siroun, his ancestral village in Southern Turkey where Turkish Muslims and Armenian Christians have lived side by side for centuries. Photo-journalist Chris Myers (Christian Bale), has come here only partly to cover geo-politics. He is mesmerized by his love for Ana (Charlotte le Bon), an Armenian artist he has accompanied from Paris after the sudden death of her father. When Michael meets Ana, their shared Armenian heritage sparks an attraction that explodes into a romantic rivalry between the two men even as Michael hangs on to a promise from his past. After the Turks join the war on the German side, the Empire turns violently against its own ethnic minorities. Despite their conflicts, everyone must find a way to survive — even as monumental events envelope their lives.’

While it had been expected the film would get an Oscar qualifying release in the US at the end of last year, it’ll no be arriving in both the UK and US in April. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]
