‘John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) stars as the rebellious Jake Pentecost, a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous “Kaiju.” Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through our cities and bring the world to its knees, he is given one last chance to live up to his father’s legacy by his estranged sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi)—who is leading a brave new generation of pilots that have grown up in the shadow of war. As they seek justice for the fallen, their only hope is to unite together in a global uprising against the forces of extinction.

We hadn’t heard about this film before, so we figure it needs every little bit of help it can get. I expect you’ll only be able to find it in tiny little art cinemas though when it’s released in December.

With this year’s Comic Con starting, some of those planning to promote their upcoming big movies in San Diego are trying to get in ahead of the rush, by releasing some of their material publicly a little early. That includes our first look at Pacific Rim: Uprising, which ditches much of the cast of the first film and director Guillermo Del Toro.
With Disney busy showing off its wares at the D23 Expo at Disneyland, one of the big things they’re hawking is, of course, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. To help get us excited for the next adventures of Rey, Finn, Poe, Luke Skywalker and co., a new behind-the scenes look has been released.
