Pacific Rim Uprising IMAX Trailer – John Boyega and the giant robots take on the monsters

15th February 2018 By Tim Isaac

Synopsis: ‘The globe-spanning conflict between otherworldly monsters of mass destruction and the human-piloted super-machines built to vanquish them was only a prelude to the all-out assault on humanity in Pacific Rim Uprising.

‘John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) stars as the rebellious Jake Pentecost, a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous “Kaiju.” Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through our cities and bring the world to its knees, he is given one last chance to live up to his father’s legacy by his estranged sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi)—who is leading a brave new generation of pilots that have grown up in the shadow of war. As they seek justice for the fallen, their only hope is to unite together in a global uprising against the forces of extinction.

‘Jake is joined by gifted rival pilot Lambert (The Fate of the Furious’ Scott Eastwood) and 15-year-old Jaeger hacker Amara (newcomer Cailee Spaeny), as the heroes of the PPDC become the only family he has left. Rising up to become the most powerful defense force to ever walk the earth, they will set course for a spectacular all-new adventure on a towering scale.”

The film will hit cinemas March 23rd, 2018. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer – Rey, Finn, Poe, Leia & Luke are striking back

10th October 2017 By Tim Isaac

We hadn’t heard about this film before, so we figure it needs every little bit of help it can get. I expect you’ll only be able to find it in tiny little art cinemas though when it’s released in December.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.

‘The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin are the executive producers.’

The Last Jedi will be in cinemas on December 14th. [Read more…]

Pacific Rim Uprising Teaser Trailer – What is a Jaeger & what’s John Boyega doing in one?

20th July 2017 By Tim Isaac

With this year’s Comic Con starting, some of those planning to promote their upcoming big movies in San Diego are trying to get in ahead of the rush, by releasing some of their material publicly a little early. That includes our first look at Pacific Rim: Uprising, which ditches much of the cast of the first film and director Guillermo Del Toro.

They’re being replaced by the likes of John Boyega and Scott Eastwood (although Rinko Kikuchi, Burn Gorham and Charlie Day will be back), with Daredevil and Spartacus producer Steven S. DeKnight making his feature directorial debut with the movie.

Alongside the teaser somes the message, ‘A new generation of Jaeger Pilots will stand tall for all humanity. What is a Jaeger? It’s you, times a thousand. Witness the next evolution of human invention, with the unveiling of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps Mark VI Jaeger Program, and visit GOJAEGER.COM to discover if you have what it takes to join the biggest heroes ever to walk the Earth.’

Take a look below. The film’s due out next February. [Read more…]
