However young Erik is reluctant to dance, as he’s not very good. As a result Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven – a penguin who can fly! Mumble has no hope of competing with this charismatic new role model. But things get worse when the world is shaken by powerful forces. Erik learns of his father’s ‘guts and grit’ as Mumble brings together the penguin nations and all manner of fabulous creatures – from tiny Krill to giant Elephant Seals – to put things right. Bunraku Trailer – Woody Harrelson & Co. go a little Sin City in east-meets-west fusion

27th July 2011 By Tim Isaac

It’ll be interesting to see whether Bunraku succeeds. It’s an east-meet-west fusion, with a Sin City-esque look, good cast and slightly vidoegame quality. In a world without guns, a mysterious drifter (Josh Hartnett) walks into a strange town terrorised by the ruthless Nicola (Ron Perlman) and his army of thugs, headed by nine deadly assassins including the vicious Killer #2 (Kevin McKidd). The drifter is forced to trust a young samurai (Japanese superstar Gackt) who is looking to restore his family’s honour, and the local bartender (Woody Harrelson) who has been secretly awaiting a dream team to help overthrow Nicola’s tyrannical regime. It’s all a bit strange, but the trailer is well worth a look. It’ll be interesting to see if it find box office success when it’s released later this year.

Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil Red Band Trailer – Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine turn horror on its head

27th July 2011 By Tim Isaac

Horror comedies are difficult to get right – for every Shaun Of The Dead there are a hundred misjudged pieces of dreck. However with Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine starring and a fun, goofy feel, this trailer suggests Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil could work very well, with a nice premise that turns horror movies conventions on its head. Tucker and Dale are two best friends on vacation at their dilapidated mountain house. Unfortunately for them though a group of obnoxious, preppy college kids who’ve watched too many backwoods horror movies mistake them for murderous hillbillies. When one of the students gets separated from her friends, the boys try to lend a hand, but as the misunderstanding grows, so does the body count. There’s no UK release set yet, but hopefully it’ll be out soon.
