The Avengers Tease From Captain America – See the last scene from The First Avenger and shots from the superhero mash-up

29th July 2011 By Tim Isaac

First up a warning, if you don’t want to know anything about what happens at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, don’t watch the tease below, as it includes the very last scene from the movie. That said, it doesn’t include anything you couldn’t have guessed already, seeing as Captain America is set during World War II and The Avengers takes place in the modern day. However if you don’t mind some mini-spoilers, you can watch that scene plus a hi-res tease of the post-credits trailer for The Avengers that comes after the movie. It all looks a lot of fun, and if you want to see a bit more of The Avengers, make sure you stay around after the Captain America credits, which is in cinemas now.

New Fright Night International Trailer – Fresh look at the fun seeming horror-comedy remake

29th July 2011 By Tim Isaac

Fright Night, which hits UK cinemas on September 2nd, looks like it could be a whole lotta fun, and now a new international trailer has arrived, showing off the movie’s mix of horror and humour. Here’s the synopsis: ‘High School Senior Charley Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all – he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (ColinFarrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right— yet no one, including Charley’s mom (Toni Collette), seems to notice!  After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charley comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he’s telling the truth, Charley has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.’

Battleship Trailer – First look at next summer’s massive alien invasion flick

28th July 2011 By Tim Isaac

Rather than going down the usual route or releasing a rather pointless teaser , the makers of next summer’s Battleship have decided to release a full trailer, showing off navy meet aliens premise of this board-game adaptation. Here’s the synopsis: ‘Peter Berg produces and directs Battleship, the epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Based on Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper’s older brother, Commanding Officer Stone of the USS Samson; Rihanna as Lt. Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane.’ The movie is out April 20th, 2012, but look above for the first poster and below for the trailer.

New The Change-Up Red Band Trailer – More body switch rudeness with Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman

28th July 2011 By Tim Isaac

Body swap comedies get the R-rated treatment on September 16th when The Change-Up hits cinemas, and to help promote it a brand new red band trailer has arrived, with plenty of swearing and sex talk to get us in the mood for the flick. Ryan Reynolds plays a single slacker who’s been best friend with Jason Bateman’s upright family man since they were kids. However after they somehow swap bodies (which seems to involve pissing in a fountain for some reason), all hell breaks loose. The script by Hangover writers Jon Lucas & Scott Moore promises to delve into areas that previous bdy swap comedies have feared to tread – after all, if you swap bodies with you married best friend, are you now allowed to have sex with his wife?

Red State has already been on a select tour around the US with Kevin Smith in attendance, but it’s getting a proper US release on October 19th and before that will reach the UK on September 30th. Now a new Red Band Trailer for the movie has been released, highlighting the horror aspects of the tale, and suggesting it is a pretty intense flick. The film sees a group of misfits encountering an extreme fundametalist church, and getting way more than they bargained for when they come across the hate-filled Abin Cooper, who likes to deal with ‘sin’ in his own violent way.
