The Texas Killing Fields International Trailer – Sam Worthington’s after a sadistic serial killer
After having a bit of a rocky road to the screen with director and cast changes (Danny Boyle was once attached and commented that it was ‘almost too dark to get made’), The Texas Killing Fields (aka The Fields) is now on its way and the first trailer has arrived. Unfortunately it’s dubbed, which is a bit of a problem for those of us that don’t speak Italian, but we can still get a feel for the look of the movie. Michael Mann’s daughter, Ani Canaan Mann, was the person who eventually stepped behind the camera to direct the film, which is based on a series of real life killings. The thriller follows a local homicide detective (Sam Worthington) in a small Texas town and his partner, a transplanted cop from New York City (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), as they track a sadistic serial killer dumping his victims mutilated bodies in a nearby marsh locals call The Killing Fields. The killer changes the game and begins hunting the detectives, teasing them with possible clues at the crime scenes while always remaining one step ahead. When a familiar local girl, Anne (Chloe Grace Moretz), goes missing, the detectives find themselves in a race against time to find the killer and save her life. Take a look below for the trailer.
Twixt Trailer – Take a look at Coppola’s strange and rather creepy tale
There’s been a lot of interest in Twixt, partly because it’s from Francis Ford Coppola and partly because the director is planning on going on tour with the film (in the US only at the moment), creating a live edit of the film that will change each night. However now the first trailer for the film has arrived, showing off the movie’s slightly unusual sensibilties. Inspired by the gothic horror of Edgar Allen Poe, Twixt tells the tale of a burnt-out mystery writer (Val Kilmer) who gets mixed up in murder and evil in a California town. With Elle Fanning looking creepy and Val Kilmer looking a bit freaked out, click below to take a look. No UK release has yet been set.
Like Crazy Trailer – Anton Yelchin stars in the Sundance Grand Jury winning love story
For a subject that’s such a huge preoccupation for the human race, it’s surprisingly difficult to make a movie about love that truly resonates with audiences. However Like Crazy must have been doing something right for Sundance viewers, as it won both the main Grand Jury Prize and a Special Jury Prize for Felicity Jones’ performance. Now a trailer has arrived ahead of its US cinemas release in October (it should reach the UK February 2012). The film follow British college student (Jones) who falls for her American classmate (Anton Yelchin). They then embark on a passionate and life-changing journey only to be separated when she violates the terms of her visa. The trailer suggests this is a film that really want to try and understand love, but we’ll have to wait and see it it really does.
Red Tails Trailer – First look at the long gestating George Lucas produced war flick
George Lucas has much of the world’s money and so can do whatever he wants. For over 20 years he’s been planning a movie based on the famed story of the Tuskegee airmen, and finally in 2009 it started shooting under the direction of Anthony Hemingway, and a cast including Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., David Oyelowo and Ne-Yo. However since then the movie has been somewhat in limbo, with nobody entirely sure why it was taking so long to get to cinema screens. Lucas has been fairly quiet about it, despite rumours he was unhappy with Hemingway’s direction and has been trying to put things right with reshoots and effects work. However it now appears the movie is getting to the point where George is satisfied with it, as the first trailer for the movie has arrived, which you can see below.
Set during 1944, the war in Europe continues to take its toll on Allied forces, and the Pentagon brass has no recourse but to consider unorthodox options – including the untried and untested African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program. Just as the young Tuskegee men are on the brink of being shut down and shipped back home, they are given the ultimate chance to show their courage. Against all the odds, with something to prove and everything to lose, these intrepid young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country – and the fate of the free world. It’s a famous tale and has taken on legendary proportions in African-American history. Lucas therefore needs to get it right, and while it certainly looks like the aerial sequences will be spectacular, it’s yet to be seen whether the rest of the movie works. We should be able to find out early next year.
Tower Heist Trailer – Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy go on the rob

After the workers at a luxury Central Park condominium discover the penthouse billionaire (Alan Alda) has stolen their retirement funds, they plot the ultimate revenge – a $20 million heist to reclaim what he took from them. The Brett Ratner directed movie also stars Matthew Broderick, Tea Leoni, Casey Affleck, Gabourey Sidibe, Judd Hirsch and Michael Pena. It’ll be in cinemas next spring, but now the first poster and trailer for the movie have arrived, and you can see those above and below.
