Dolly Parton hasn’t starred in a movie since 2002 (barring a small vocal part in Gnomeo & Juliet), but now she’s returning to the big screen alongside Queen Latifah in Joyful Noise. The plot won’t exactly win any originality awards, with two women who start out rivals but have to come together to save a small town Gospel Choir after budget cuts threaten to shut them down. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s a big competition they might be able to win as well! Click below so you can see quite how tight plastic surgeons can pull the face of as 65 year old woman, and prepare for the release of the film early next year.
One For The Money Trailer – Katherine Heigl goes bounty hunting
Katherine Heigl seems determined to flush a promising career down the toilet with an endless run of rom-com pap. One For The Money looks like it’s going to continue that run, despite being based on a bestselling book by Janet Evanovich. Heigl plays unemployed and newly-divorced Stephanie Plum who lands a job at her cousin’s bail-bond business. However in true ‘only in the movies’ fashion, her first assignment puts her on the trail of a wanted local cop who also happens to be her ex. No UK date is set yet, but it’s likely to be in cinemas early next year.
Justice Trailer – Nicolas Cage wants revenge but gets more than he bargained for
All Nic Cage wants in Justice is a little bit of revenge, but as this trailer shows, it all gets a bit out of hand for him. He plays high school teacher Will Gerard (Nicolas Cage), who lives a life of content domesticity with his beautiful musician wife Laura (January Jones). After Laura is violently attacked and left traumatised in hospital, Will is approached by a well-dressed stranger (Guy Pearce) offering to dispense immediate justice to the attacker and save the couple from an emotionally traumatic trial. Distraught, Will accepts the proposal but soon learns justice comes at a price. Cage does some of his very best furrowed brow acting in the trailer, so click below to take a look. It’ll be in cinemas on November 18th.
Man On A Ledge Trailer – Does Sam Worthington want to kill himself, or is he just a distraction?
Sam Worthington is taking a break from running around alien worlds and battling mythological creatures so he can spend some time standing on a ledge and possibly getting ready to kill himself. Fortunately though it’s just for a movie. Now the first trailer is here, which suggests that while everyone thinks Worthington is suicidal, it might actually all be part of a distraction while a heist takes place that will somehow proves Sam is an innocent man. Elizabeth Banks, Jamie Bell, Ed Harris, Anthony Mackie and Kyra Sedgwick also star. As you’ve probably noticed, a new poster is featured above, while the trailer is embedded below. The film is currently due in UK cinemas on January 27th, 2012.
Big Miracle Trailer – Everybody loves whales (or they did before they changed the film’s title)
Based on one of the more unusual moments in the thawing of the Cold War, Big Miracle (previously known as Everybody loves Whales) stars Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski as two people desperately trying to save a trio of whales that have become trapped as the ice shelf around their breathing holes grows and they can’t get out to sea without drowning. The animal’s predicament soon causes a bit of a media sensation and some unprecendented co-operation when a Soviet vessel is brought in to try and break through the ice and save the creatures. The movie’s currently due for release in the UK on February 10th, 2012, but click below for the trailer.
The Grey Teaser Trailer – Liam Neeson versus wolves!
Liam Neeson doesn’t look like he’s having much fun in The Grey, where he plays the leader of an an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks (although the teaser seems to suggest he’s the only one involved), whose plane crashes in the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt before their time runs out. Although surviving in the wilderness sound slook a good idea for a film, it’s odd that it rarely actually works on screen. Hopefully with Neeson starring and Joe Carnahan directing they can make it work. The movie’s due out early next year, but click below for the new teaser trailer.
