New Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Trailer – Say hello to Star Lord’s dad, Kurt Russell

1st March 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Although we’ve had a couple of promos for the excellent looking Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, one thing we haven’t seen is Kurt Russell as Star Lord’s father, Ego the Living Planet. That’s now been remedied with a new trailer – although you have to wait until the very end to see him. Oddly, he does look like he really could be Chris Pratt’s dad.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, Sean Gunn, Tommy Flanagan, Laura Haddock and Kurt Russell. Kevin Feige is producing, and Louis D’Esposito, Jonathan Schwartz, Victoria Alonso, Nik Korda and Stan Lee are the executive producers. The screenplay is by James Gunn. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” blasts into UK cinemas April 28th 2017.’

Take a look at the new promo below. It’s certainly looks like it’s gonna be another good one, and the early rumours suggest Marvel and James Gun have done it again. [Read more…]

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Extended Look – Chris Pratt and co. are back in action

6th February 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Guardians Of The Galaxy certainly wasn’t lacking in action, but it appears that they may be upping the stakes for Volume 2, as this new Extended Look is packed to the brim with sci-fi fighting, flying and general craziness. They may also be bidding for having the world’s cutest character with Baby Groot.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, Sean Gunn, Tommy Flanagan, Laura Haddock and Kurt Russell. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Trailer – Chris Pratt’s Star Lord and the crew are back

4th December 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-2-teaser-slideIt’s easy to forget that before it was released Guardians of the Galaxy seemed like a massive gamble for Marvel. It was based on a property that wasn’t as well-known as the likes of Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America, had a very different tone to other Marvel movies, and its more explicitly sci-fi setting didn’t match what we’d seen from the Marvel Universe up to that point.

Now it seems obvious it was going to be a huge success, but that’s only because all the pieces came together perfectly, from the smart decision to hire James Gunn as writer/director, to casting Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star Lord. Now it’s on its way back with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which has just released its first trailer.

guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-2-poster-slideMany wondered whether the intergalactic adventures of Guardians of the Galaxy would be a flop, but it ended up being one of their biggest hits, ensuring a sequel is on its way. It reunites the main cast and creative forces for what this first teaser suggests will be another fun adventure.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.

Kurt Russell Wanted For Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

16th December 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

kurt-russellIn Guardians of the Galaxy, there was a fair amount of talks about Star-Lord’s dad, but we never fully learned who he was. Now though we may know who’ll be play him at least, as TheWrap says Kurt Russell is the top choice to be Peter Quill’s dad in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

It’s still very early days as no offer has been made to Russell and apparently he hasn’t even seen a script, but director James Gunn wants him and it would appear Kurt is open to the idea. It certainly makes sense, considering Russell is a bit of a 70s/80s icon and Quill is slightly obessed with that era due to be kidnapped from Earth during that period.

It’s not known exactly the character Russell would play, as Gunn has said Star-Lord will have a different father in the movies than the comic books. There’s been speculation that his dad will be Thanos, which is a possibility but not all that likely (despite Bradley Cooper saying it was true before he’s even seen a script).

As well as Chris Pratt returning as Quill, the likes of Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, and Vin Diesel as Groot will also be back. It’ll be in cinemas May 2017.
