New Pitch Perfect 3 Trailer – Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson & the Bellas are back

25th September 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

After the surprise success of Pitch Perfect, Universal set up the sequel on the presumption that would be it for Anna Kendrick and co., and that if there was any future in the franchise, it would be with a new generation – hence why they brought in Hailee Steinfeld. Then Pitch Perfect 2 became a huge hit, grossing $300 million, and suddenly the studio wanted a third film with the original cast – and that’s just what we’re getting.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Now graduated from college and out in the real world where it takes more than a cappella to get by, the Bellas return in Pitch Perfect 3, the next chapter in the beloved series that has taken in more than $400 million at the global box office.

‘After the highs of winning the World Championships, the Bellas find themselves split apart and discovering there aren’t job prospects for making music with your mouth. But when they get the chance to reunite for an overseas USO tour, this group of awesome nerds will come together to make some music, and some questionable decisions, one last time.

‘Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp, Chrissie Fit, Kelley Jakle, Shelley Regner, Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins all return and are joined by additions including John Lithgow and Ruby Rose. Pitch Perfect 3 is again produced by Paul Brooks of Gold Circle Entertainment and Max Handelman & Elizabeth Banks of Brownstone Productions, and is directed by Trish Sie (Step Up All In).’

The film will be in cinemas on December 20th. [Read more…]

Anne Hathaway May Join Rebel Wilson In Female Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Remake

22nd January 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Last August, it was revealed that Rebel Wilson was attached to a gender-swapped remake of the 1998 Steve Martin and Michael Caine comedy. Now it’s been reported that they may have found the person to play opposite Rebel, as Anne Hathaway is in talks for the role according to THR.

In the original movie, Caine and Martin played con artists, one unsophisticated and one suave, who join forces on the French Riviera to take down a big target, before turning on one another with a bet that will see the loser having to leave town. The remake is apparently titled Nasty Women, with a script by Jac Schaeffer. The basic idea will stay the same, with the con artists being socially mismatched, but this time they’ll be teaming up to con a tech prodigy out of his money.

No director or release date has been announced as yet. Hathaway must enjoy the con artist world, as she’s currently shooting Ocean’s 8, which sees George Clooney and co. replaced by a group of women going off on a heist.

Rebel Wilson Up For Gender-Swapped Remake Of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

5th August 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

rebel-wilsonInternet trolls may have viciously laid into the idea of gender-swapping Ghostbusters, but Hollywood seems to like the idea, with a Splash remake announced a couple of days ago with Channing Tatum in the Darryl Hannah role. That’s been joined by Rebel Wilson taking on one of the central roles in a do-over of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

THR reports that she’s play one of two con-women in the remake of the 1998 Steve Martin and Michael Caine comedy. The original saw the duo as con artists, one unsophisticated and one suave, who join forces on the French Riviera to take down a big target, before turning on one another with a bet that will see the loser having to leave town.

It’s not known who might join Wilson in the new version of the film. No director is set either, but it seems something Wilson is keen on, as she’s also set to produce.
