Justice League Extended Trailer – Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg & Flash unite

23rd July 2017 By Tim Isaac

Following the critical and commercial success of Wonder Woman, many are hoping that the DC universe has taken a turn for the better, and that it will continue with this autumn’s much-anticipated Justice League. It’s certainly noticeable in this extended trailer, that Wonder Woman is pused to the fore.

Of course, there’s also Batman (Ben Affleck), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), Flash (Ezra Miller) and maybe even Superman (Henry Cavill), despite what happened in Batman vs. Superman.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat.  But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.’

The movie will be in cinemas November 17th.  [Read more…]

Justice League Trailer – Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg & The Flash unite

25th March 2017 By Tim Isaac

With all the summer blockbusters lining up for attention at the moment, it’s been easy to forget that before the end of the year, Warner/DC is releasing its major superhero mashup, Justice League. To help stake its place on the hype scare, the first official trailer for the movie has now arrived, showing us the likes of Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and The Flash, and what they’ll be getting up to.

The trailer follows a series of teasers and character posters, which you can also see below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Jason Momoa Up For Just Cause Film Adaptation, With Brad Petyon Directing

8th March 2017 By Tim Isaac

Video game to movie adaptations may not have a great reputation, but Hollywood can’t give up on the idea that their might be a lot of money to be made from them. One of the latest that’s in the work, is a movie version of Just Cause.

Deadline reports that Jason Momoa is set to star in the film, with Brad Peyton directing. Game Of Thrones star Momoa has been on on the verge of breaking massively for quite a while, and the makers of Just Cause will be hoping that the fact he is soon to be seen as Aquaman will make him an even bigger name.

Peyton meanwhile is coming off two movie that made far more money that most people realise, Journey 2 and San Andreas. Next up he’s helming another videogame inspired film, Rampage, which will reunite him with Dwayne Johnson. The movie will come before Just Cause.

The Just Cause movie, ‘like the game, follows Rico Rodriguez (Momoa) who is an operative for an organization known as the Agency. The plot of the movie is under wraps but it is expected to deal in some way with Rico’s crisis of conscience while on a mission.’

The Bad Batch Teaser Trailer – Keanu Reeves is a cult leader in a cannibal wasteland

14th February 2017 By Tim Isaac

It’s not a good day when you end up a in wasteland inhabited by bloodthirsty cannibals. However, in The Bad Batch there’s an area of Texas that’s no longer Texas, as it’s been abandoned by the United States and they’re having nothing to do with anyone who enters it – and that’s at least partly due to the cannibals.

Plus, Keanu Reeves shows up as a cult leader.

For what sounds like a low-rent horror movie, The Bad Batch has a surprisingly good cast, with Reeves joined by Jason Momoa, Giovanni Ribisi, Jim Carrey, Diego Luna and Suki Waterhouse. It got an interesting but mixed reception at the Toronto International Film Festival, but it certainly sounds like it might be worth a watch.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The highly anticipated follow-up to [Ana Lily] Amirpour’s acclaimed directorial debut, A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT, THE BAD BATCH follows Arlen (Waterhouse) as she is unceremoniously dumped in a Texas wasteland fenced off from civilized society. While trying to orient her unforgiving environment, she is captured by a savage band of cannibals and quickly realizes she’ll have to fight her way through her new reality. As Arlen adjusts to life in ‘the bad batch’ she discovers that being good or bad mostly depends on who you’re standing next to.’

The movie is due out in the summer. [Read more…]

Nicole Kidman & Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Are Up For Aquaman

1st February 2017 By Tim Isaac

The Warner/DC universe has been having a few difficulties, with The Flash losing its director and getting a total rewrite, Ben Affleck deciding not to helm The Batman (and some saying he’d like to stop being the Caped Crusader entirely), and rumours that Wonder Woman is a mess. However, with Justice League set for November 2017 and Aquaman heading into theatres just under a year later (The Flash is supposed to come between them, but its release date is currently up in the air), it’s full-steam-ahead on the film about Jason Momoa’s watery superhero.

The cast has just grown, with THR reporting that Nicole Kidman and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are both in talks to join Aquaman. Nothing’s been signed yet, but Abdul-Mateen (The Get Down) is being eyed to play the villainous Black Manta. Kidman meanwhile would be Aquaman’s mother, Atlanna.

There have been various versions and backstories for Black Manta, but usually he originated on the land, before ending up with enhanced powers and a suit of armour that makes him almost invulnerable, and also allows him to be as comfortable in the oceans as he is on land. He has long been Aquaman’s arch-enemy. Atlanna meanwhile is a Queen/Princess of Atlanta, who fell for a human and got pregnant with the child who would later become Aquaman.

The movie is due to start shooting in Australia in April, with James Wan directing. Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe and Patrick Wilson will also star.

Jason Momoa In Talks For The Crow Reboot Lead

10th August 2016 By Tim Isaac

jason-momoaWhile Jason Momoa is a fine actor, you have to wonder whether he’s now in talks to lead the planned remake of The Crow, because he’s the only actor left who hasn’t been attached at some point or another. Jack Huston, Mark Wahlberg, Bradley Cooper, Luke Evans, James McAvoy and Tom Hiddleston and Channing Tatum are just a few of the actors who’ve been attached or rumoured for the movie in the past few years.

The list of directors who’ve come and gone isn’t much shorter either.

Mashable had the news Momoa is in talks for The Crow, playing Eric Draven, who is killed and comes back as the supernatural The Crow, in order to seek revenge. Corin Hardy is set to direct the movie, which is said to be closer to the original comic book source than earlier films.
