Final Star Trek Beyond Trailer – Get ready to boldly go once more

19th July 2016 By Tim Isaac

star-trek-beyondBefore it even started filming, some had decided that the fact Fast & Furious helmer Justin Lin was directing Star Trek Beyond meant it was going to be a disaster. However, the early buzz is that they should have had a lot more faith, with many suggesting this it the best of the rebooted Star Trek bunch.

With only a few days until release, a final trailer has been released to ensure our appetites are suitably whetted.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘”Star Trek Beyond,” the highly anticipated next installment in the globally popular Star Trek franchise, created by Gene Roddenberry and reintroduced by J.J. Abrams in 2009, returns with director Justin Lin (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise) at the helm of this epic voyage of the U.S.S. Enterprise and her intrepid crew.  In “Beyond,” the Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.’

The film will be in cinemas on Friday. [Read more…]

Another New Star Trek Beyond Trailer Arrives

27th June 2016 By Tim Isaac

star-trek-beyond-slideThe rebooted Star Trek has had plenty of success at the cinema, but one thing it’s been lacking is a five-year mission to seek out strange new worlds. However, now it seems it’s getting one, although as you would expect, as the crew of the USS Enterprise head off to strange new worlds, things don’t go smoothly.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘”Star Trek Beyond,” the highly anticipated next installment in the globally popular Star Trek franchise, created by Gene Roddenberry and reintroduced by J.J. Enterprise and her intrepid crew.  In “Beyond,” the Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.’

The film will be in UK cinemas on July 22nd. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

New Star Trek Beyond Trailer – Chris Pine & co. head for strange new worlds & into action

21st May 2016 By Tim Isaac

Star-Trek-Beyond-Teaser-posterThe first trailer for Star Trek Beyond came in for quite a bit of criticism, not least for being very action-heavy and not Star Trek-y enough for some tastes. However, with the second trailer it seems Paramount feels the best approach is to double down on the action and suggestions of lots of epic special-effects. That said, they have added a few more character moments and suggestions this fits into a larger sci-fi universe.

Doctor Strange Trailer – Marvel gets a little magic with Benedict Cumberbatch

13th April 2016 By Tim Isaac

Doctor-Strange-poster1-slideJust yesterday we said that it wouldn’t be long until a trailer for Doctor Strange arrived. Well, we were right as it’s now here and you can take a look at it below. The trailer suggests something a little darker than most Marvel movies, as giving us a taste of the magic it will bring to the universe.

We also get a look at a bald and rather mystical Tilda Swinton.

Cumberbatch plays Stephen Vincent Strange, a former neurosurgeon who becomes the next Sorcerer Supreme and primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats. Tilda Swinton will play Strange’s mentor, the Ancient One, while Chiwetel Ejiofor will appear as Baron Mordo, who also studies magic under the Ancient One, before becoming Doctor Strange’s nemesis. Mads Mikelsen is also onboard to play one of the main villains.

Scott Derrickson is directing the movie. It’ll be in cinemas November 2016. [Read more…]

Benedict Cumberbatch Magics Up A Doctor Strange Poster

12th April 2016 By Tim Isaac

Doctor-Strange-poster1I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a trailer for Doctor Strange very, very soon (around the time Captain America: Civil War is released makes sense), as a few days after a new picture of Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character debuted, the first official poster has arrived.

Cumberbatch will play Stephen Vincent Strange, a former neurosurgeon who becomes the next Sorcerer Supreme and primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats. Marvel Comics artist Steve Ditko created the character in 1963. Tilda Swinton will play Strange’s mentor, the Ancient One, while Chiwetel Ejiofor will appear as Baron Mordo, who also studies magic under the Ancient One in the comic books, before becoming Doctor Strange’s nemesis. Mads Mikelsen is also onboard to play an as yet unnamed villain, who EW says, is ‘a sorcerer who breaks off into his own sect… he believes that the Ancient One is just protecting her own power base and that the world may be better off if we were to allow some of these other things through.’

Scott Derrickson is directing the movie. It’ll be in cinemas November 2016.

Get A Fresh Look At Benedict Cumberbatch As Doctor Strange

6th April 2016 By Tim Isaac

doctor-strange-pic2Benedict Cumberbatch could either be brilliant or horribly miscast in Doctor Strange, but he certainly looks the part. Just after Christmas we got our first look at him as the Marvel hero, and now a new image of him in the role has dropped, as you can see above.
