In the last couple of weeks, a couple of teaser trailers (which you can watch here and here) have been released for David Fincher’s The Social Network, about the founding of Facebook. However they got a rather mixed reaction due to their unusual nature and the fact they only featured audio from the film, rather than actual footage. Now a new full trailer has emerged, which starts off in the same unusual way, with close-ups of stuff on Facebook, before moving into our first look at actual footage from the film, which stars Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield. To be honest it’s still likely to divide audience, as while fairly intriguing, it doesn’t really show us why a movie about setting up the social networking site is worth watching, although it probably will be, as the fights and problems in the early days when the site became far more popular than anyone imagined are well known. Plus David Fincher is always a director to look out for, and you can’t imagine he’d get involved if he didn’t have a particular vision for the film. Click below for the trailer. The Social Network hits cinemas on October 15th.
