They're being pretty smart with the marketing for David Fincher's The Social Network. A movie about the founding of Facebook doesn't sound that interesting on its own, and it would have been easy for them just to sell it as a typical tale of crazy college kids who come up with an idea, make their fortune, but then face the problems of success. But they're not, they're trying to intrigue us and suggest it'll be something a bit more than that - which you'd certainly hope for from the director of Seven, Fight Club and Zodiac. The first poster was a bit mysterious and seemed largely designed just to get you to look. This teaser meanwhile throws up all sorts of possibilities about the tone the film will take, and make it seem as if it'll be a lot more dramaticc than just kids accidentally launching a cultural phenomenon. In fact it's all a little ominous. The Social Network is currently scheduled to hit cinemas on October 15th, but click below for the teaser trailer.
