The first poster for this summer’s bid budget fantasy adventure, The Sorceror’s Apprentice has shown up online over at ComingSoon. It’s rather cool and mysterious, although at the same time there is a slightly generic fantasy feel about it. Take a look at the new poster below, and you can click here to watch the trailer for the film in which Nicolas Cage plays a master sorceror in New York, who must defend the city from his arch nemesis, Maxim Hovarth (Alfred Molina). As you might have guessed from the title, the sorceror needs an apprentice, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), who has hidden magical potential. As the film re-teams Cage (who has eve nuttier hair than normal) with National Treasure director Jon Turteltaub, expect plenty of overblown action and special effects. The Sorceror’s Apprentice hits UK cinemas on August 13th, 2010.
