You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger Trailer – Take a look at Woody Allen’s latest

9th July 2010 By Tim Isaac

If it weren’t for the fact we know this is directed by Woody Allen, it would pass for the sort of small little very British movie people normally take no notice of – especially considering how much Gemma Jones and Pauline Collins feature in it – except with a starrier cast. But no, it is indeed Allen’s latest, which premiered at Cannes. However this Spanish trailer (in English with subtitles), tells us little about what it’s actually about, other than the lives and loves of a group of people who like talking at each other in a very Woody Allen way. Click below to take a look.

Second Social Network Teaser Arrives – Your whole life is Facebook!

9th July 2010 By Tim Isaac

The first teaser for David Fincher’s The Social Network provoked mixed reactions, with some liking its unsual style, while others just thought it was a bit boring. This new teaser continues on from the first, by using no footage from the actual film, instead taking audio from the movie and putting it over Facebook style visuals, which gives the impression these people are living out their entire lives on the social networking site (although I’m really praying the whole movie isn’t like this). The film, about the founding of the site and the fights that erupted when the students who first built it started to make money, is due out October 15th, with these teasers seemingly designed to make it look like more than a generic tale of success going to people’s heads. However, is it just us, or in the teaser does the photo of Tyler Winklevoss look like Prince William (it’s actually actor Joshua Pence)?

Welcome To The Rileys Trailer – James Gandolfini and Kristen Stewart develop a strange friendship

9th July 2010 By Tim Isaac

When Welcome To The Rileys debuted at Sundance, it looked like the movie would reach cinemas pretty quickly, however it’s only now that the first proper trailer has been released, ahead of its US cinema release on October 1st (no UK date is set yet). The films stars James Gandolfini as a husband dealing with an agoraphobic wife and the lose of his daughter in a car accident. On a trip away from home he develops an unexpected friendship with a young runaway (Kristen Stewart) who’s working in a strip joint, and determines to help her. The movie, directed by Ridley Scott’s son Jake, certainly looks like it could be pretty good, so hopefully it’ll reach the UK sooner than later. Click below for the trailer.

First Real Machete Trailer Debuts – Danny Trejo and an all-star cast get in on the grindhouse action

9th July 2010 By Tim Isaac

When Robert Rodriguez released a fake trailer for Machete for Cinco de Mayo, he provoked a storm of controversy when people took it literally and thought the film was about trying to provoke a race war in America. Now we’ve got a proper promo for the movie, which is less about politics and more about selling the stars, action and down ‘n’ dirty vibe. Based on the faux trailer from Rodriguez and Tarantino’s Grindhouse double-bill, Machete stars Danny Trejo as a renegade former Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Steven Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (Robert De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of saucy taco slinger Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), Padre (Cheech Marin) his “holy” brother, and April (Lindsay Lohan), a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Jessica Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger. Take a look below for the big boobs and big guns trailer.

Vampires Suck Trailer – The Date Movie guys take on Twilight

8th July 2010 By Tim Isaac

If you’re like us, you’ve been waiting with baited breath to hear what movie Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer would come up with next, following the masterpieces that were Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet The Spartans and Disaster Movie. Well, okay, nobody’s cared, but they have become a two-man spoof industry. Earlier this year it was reported they were shooting a film under the title ‘LA Art Movie’, which most assumed would be a spoof on indie flicks, but it turns out it was a codename for Vampires Suck, which as you may have guessed, rips into Twilight and the whole vampire movie phenomenon. Now the first trailer has arrived and, well, like Friedberg and Seltzer’s previous films, it seem Vampires Suck will offer every lame, obvious joke going about recent hit films. But hey, the spoofs make money, and I guess that’s what counts. ThVampires Suck hits US cinemas in August, but as yet no UK release date has been set. Click below for the trailer.

The first reviews for Inception are in and to call then glowing would be an understatement. Our review of the movie should be online next Tuesday, but to keep you going until then, four new clips from the film have been released, giving us a good look into Christopher Nolan’s dreamworld. The film itself features Leo DiCaprio as an industrial espionage specialist who specialises in entering people’s dreams and extracting secrets. Take a look at the clips below, which feature a lot of DiCaprio talking abut exactly how he goes about entering other people’s minds, as well giving us a look at some of the action. The film arrives in cinemas on July 16th.
