Flatliners Trailer – Ellen Page & Diego Luna are coming back from the dead!

13th June 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

There’s been interest in remaking Joel Schumacher’s cult film, Flatliners, you a long time, but its taken quite a few years for a new take to arrive. The likes of Keifer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon and Julia Roberts have been replaced with Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, and Kiersey Clemons.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In Flatliners, five medical students, obsessed by the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience – giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. But as their experiments become increasingly dangerous, they are each haunted by the sins of their pasts, brought on by the paranormal consequences of trespassing to the other side.’

The first trailer and poster for the film have now arrived, which you can take a look at below. The movie will be in UK cinemas on September 29th. [Read more…]

The Bad Batch Teaser Trailer – Keanu Reeves is a cult leader in a cannibal wasteland

14th February 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s not a good day when you end up a in wasteland inhabited by bloodthirsty cannibals. However, in The Bad Batch there’s an area of Texas that’s no longer Texas, as it’s been abandoned by the United States and they’re having nothing to do with anyone who enters it – and that’s at least partly due to the cannibals.

Plus, Keanu Reeves shows up as a cult leader.

For what sounds like a low-rent horror movie, The Bad Batch has a surprisingly good cast, with Reeves joined by Jason Momoa, Giovanni Ribisi, Jim Carrey, Diego Luna and Suki Waterhouse. It got an interesting but mixed reception at the Toronto International Film Festival, but it certainly sounds like it might be worth a watch.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The highly anticipated follow-up to [Ana Lily] Amirpour’s acclaimed directorial debut, A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT, THE BAD BATCH follows Arlen (Waterhouse) as she is unceremoniously dumped in a Texas wasteland fenced off from civilized society. While trying to orient her unforgiving environment, she is captured by a savage band of cannibals and quickly realizes she’ll have to fight her way through her new reality. As Arlen adjusts to life in ‘the bad batch’ she discovers that being good or bad mostly depends on who you’re standing next to.’

The movie is due out in the summer. [Read more…]

Diego Luna Will Be The New Scarface, But Director Antoine Fuqua Is Out

31st January 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Although nobody has asked for a remake of Scarface, for several years Hollywood has been working on one. However, at least some talent has been involved, with Harry PaDavid Yates producing (and thinking about directing) and Pablo Larraín thinking about directing, before Antoine Fuqua signed on to helm.

However, Fuqua is now out, but that isn’t holding things up, as Variety reports that Diego Luna has signed on to play the title role in the movie. Fuqua apparently left as there’s no time in his schedule to make both Scarface and The Equalizer 2, and Sony is keen to keep to the September 2018 release date they’ve already set.

Luna is just coming off the success of Rogue One, and Scarface could be a good way to capitalise on that. Now Sony will need to find a replacement fairly quickly, so they can start shooting in a few months time.

Final Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer – Felicity Jones heads for a galaxy far, far away

13th October 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

rogue-one-slideWhile there have been rumours of trouble behind the scenes of Rogue One, with Disney said to be concerned about the tone, and the need for extensive reshoots, in the past few weeks the vibes seem to have been improving for the first of the planned movies that take place outside the main Star Wars story arc. The final trailer has now arrived, which certainly makes it look like this could be a good one.

The film follows the mission that got hold of the Death Star plans that played such a vital role in the first movie, with the trailer not just teasing the planet destroying weapon, but also the fact Darth Vader will feature in the movie. And after the success of Rey, the trailer introduces us to another strong heroine in the form of Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso.

The movie hits cinemas in December. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

New Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer – Felicity Jones heads for a galaxy far, far away

12th August 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

rogue-one-slideWhile the first teaser trailer for Rogue One was pretty cool, there have been rumours of trouble behind the scenes, with Disney said to be concerned about the tone, and the need for extensive reshoots. However, the latest trailer continues to make this look like it could be awesome. It certainly has a different feel to The Force Awakens,  and it’s not surprising they have gone for a slightly 1970s look, as the film is set just before A New Hope.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer – Felicity Jones has a very important mission in a galaxy far, far away

7th April 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

rogue-one-trailer-slideNow this is an interesting one. There was a lot riding on the trailer for Rogue One after the success of The Force Awakens, as not only did it have to show it wasn’t a follow-up to last year’s movie but it also needed to show those uncertain about it that it wasn’t just a shameless cash-in on the Star Wars name.

I think it’s fair to say it does a great job, displaying a darker, more adult tone, while showing an impressive feel for the look of the original Star Wars trilogy, mixed with some very modern special effects. It’s not surprising they have gone for that slightly 1970s look, as the film is set just before A New Hope.
