Sherlock Holmes already holds the record for the literary character with the most on-screen adaptations. Now it looks like he might be getting another one, with time turning the famous detective more comic, as Deadline reports that Stepbrothers and Talladega Nights co-stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are reuniting for Holmes and Watson.
The movie will give Sherlock a PG-13 comic spin, with Ferrell and Holmes and Reilly as Watson. Previously it was going to be Ferrell and Sasha Baron Cohen, but after the Borat actor left, Sony quickly replaced him with Reilly, with plans to push is into production soon.
Etan Cohen, who directed Ferrell in Get Hard, is set to helm the movie. The movie will go into production at the end of the year, for release in 2017.
