Captain America Featurette – Going behind the shield on the upcoming superhero flick

20th June 2011 By Tim Isaac

Norton Antivirus isn’t a product you’d normally associate with featurettes for upcoming movies, but for some reason they’ve brought us a new one for Captain America, which concentrates of the iconic shield. The cast and crew talk about the history of the vibranium device, as well as how it fits into the movie (and why we saw it in the Iron Man films). Of course there’s also plenty of footage of the Cap in action, to help us prepare for the movie’s release on July 29th. Click below to take a look. Despite the Norton connection, we’re presuming they’re not going to claim Captain America’s shield can also prevent computer viruses.

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes International Trailer – Loads of new footage showing off the ape effects

18th June 2011 By Tim Isaac

It may only be a minute long, but there’s loads of new footage in this new UK trailer for Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, much of it showing off the effects by Weta, and the motion-capture apes they’ve created. While much of it is impressive, the jury is still out on wuite how good it’ll be, as a few shots don’t quite seem to fit against the live action background (it should be noted though that trailer often feature footage that isn’t quite finished, so it may be no reflection on the finished film). The film sees James Franco playing a scientist who helps create a gene therapy that causes apes to become massively more intelligent. He raises a chimp called Caesar, but when the company he works for starts treating the animals badly, all hell breaks loose and a war for supremacy begins between human and apes. The film hits UK cinemas August 12th.
