Brave Teaser Trailer – First look at Disney-Pixar’s 2012 Highland treat

28th June 2011 By Tim Isaac

The teaser trailer for Disney-Pixar’s summer 2012 movies, Brave, starting showing in front of Cars 2 in the States last weekend, and now it’s shown up online. It looks like something a little different from Pixar, and appears as if it’s going to be a truly beautiful movie, bringing the animation company’s style to the rugged highlands of ancient Scotland. Here’s the official synopsis: ‘Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

‘Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.’

Horrible Bosses Red Band Trailer – You know a film will be rude if a character is called Motherf**ker

28th June 2011 By Tim Isaac

If the first Horrible Bosses trailer didn’t have enough swearing and sex, then the Red Band version has arrived to satiate your desires with what is essentially two and a half minutes of f-words and sex talk. Hell, Jamie Foxx even plays a character called Motherf**ker Jones! Here’s the synopsis: For Nick, Kurt and Dale (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis), the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses (Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston, and Kevin Spacey) into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers…permanently. There’s only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them. Horrible Bosses is due in cinemas July 22nd.

New Immortals Trailer – Fresh look at Tarsem’s stylised Greek mythology flick

28th June 2011 By Tim Isaac

If you’ve been starved of hyper-stylised Greek mythology since 300, then Immortals is the movie for you. Tarsem always creates movies that look incredible, and it seems this will be no different. The movie will also give us a chance to see Henry Cavill in a lead role before he take on Superman in Man Of Steel. Here’s the synopsis: ‘Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares.

‘Secretly chosen by Zeus, Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his hordes. Rallying a band of fellow outsiders–including visionary priestess Phaedra (Freida Pinto) and cunning slave Stavros (Stephen Dorff) — one hero will lead the uprising, or watch his homeland fall into ruin and his Gods vanish into legend.’

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol French Trailer Leaks – Tom Cruise looks cool, even en Francais

27th June 2011 By Tim Isaac

A bootleg version of the French version of the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol trailer has leaked onto the web, and it has to be said that it looks pretty cool, even if everyone is speaking in foreign. An English-language one will be available later in the week (it’ll be shown alongside Transformers 3), but for now we’ve got all the explosive action in French! Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt, although the trailer suggests he’s been ‘disavowed’, which doesn’t sound good (I wish my French was better, so I really knew what’s going on). He’ll be joined by old hand Simon Pegg, while Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Lea Seydoux and Josh Holloway are also along for the ride this time. The JJ Abrams movie looks pretty spectacular, and will be in UK cinemas on Boxing Day.

New Apollo 18 Trailer – NASA has hidden evidence of finding aliens on the moon!

27th June 2011 By Tim Isaac

At the end of last year, it looked like Apollo 18 was going to be one of the fastest sci-fi movies ever made, announced only a few months before it was first due to be released. However a new director was brought in partyway into shooting, the planned March release date came and went, and it’s kept being puched back. However, now a September 2nd release is pencilled in for both the US and UK, and a new trailer has been released. The film’s conceit is that it’s supposedly footage of a secret NASA moon mission the public was never told about (the official missions ended with Apollo 17), which found evidence of alien life. However the trailer suggests things didn’t go well, which is why we never heard anything about it, until now! Click below to take a look.

To make the rescue, he must complete a near-impossible mission of killing three tough-as-nails assassins with a cunning leader (Clive Owen).
