Is Michelle Williams the right choice to play Marilyn Monroe? She certainly looks the part and this trailer is our first look at whether she can pull off the voice too. My Week With Marilyn is based on Colin Clark’s diary account of being an assistant on The Prince and the Showgirl, the film that famously united Sir Laurence Olivier (played in the movie by Kenneth Branagh) and Marilyn Monroe, who was also on honeymoon with her new husband, the playwright Arthur Miller. After Miller left, Clark was tasked with showing Marilyn some of the pleasures of British life. The film is due out on November 18th and from this trailer looks surprisingly promising.
War Horse Trailer – Spielberg takes on Michael Morpurgo’s great WW1 tale
It may turn out great, but there’s still something that looks a little twee about Steven Spielberg’s War Horse, and it’s probably to do with how overly idyllic everything looks before the war begins. Nevertheless there’s a lot to commend in what we do get to see in this brand new trailer, including some beuatiful photography and a story that promises plenty of action and emotion. Here’s the synopsis: ‘From director Steven Spielberg comes War Horse, an epic adventure for audiences of all ages. Set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War, War Horse begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meetsBritish cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughterbefore the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Mans Land.
‘The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horsean odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure. War Horse is one of the great stories of friendship and war a successful book, it was turned into a hugely successful international theatrical hit that is arriving on Broadway next year. It now comes to screen in an epic adaptation by one of the great directors in film history.’ The film will undoubtedly try for a major awards run, with its UK release set for January 13th.

You wait ages for a Spielberg movie and then two come along at once. We’ve only just posted the trailer for War Horse, which is out in January, and now we’ve got a new one for The Adventure Of Tintin: Secret Of The Unicorn, which will be in UK cinemas on October 26th (the US is getting a full-on Spielberg-fest, as both those movies are due out these with a week of one another at Christmas). It’s a full-on action spectacle and make the whole movie look a little Indiana Jones! In the film Tintin and his friends discover directions to a sunken ship commanded by Capt. Haddock’s ancestor and go off on a treasure hunt. It looks great fun and could be the movie 3D mo-cap is waiting for.

I Melt With You Trailer – Piven, Lowe and Jane take too many drugs and bare their souls
You get a choice of trailers for I Melt With You, depending on how much drugs and debauchery you want, as we’ve embedded both the green band and red band versions below for you to take a look at! In the film, Richard (Thomas Jane), Ron (Jeremy Piven), Jonathan (Rob Lowe) and Tim (Christian McKay) are old college friends that gather annually for a week in Big Sur to celebrate their friendship and catch-up on each others lives. They seem like typical men in their forties all with careers, families, and enormous responsibilities but like most people there is a lot more beneath the surface. As the week progresses, they go down the rabbit hole of excess as mountains of drugs are consumed to a blaring rock n roll soundtrack. Parties with much younger women spin out of control. Exhausted and run ragged, they bare their souls to one another revealing the disillusionment with their lives. As the truth emerges, the reunion takes a much darker turn when a promise from their past is brought to light. No UK release date is currently set
Streetdance 2 Teaser – The 3D dancing phenomenon is back!
Streetdance surprised many when it became a huge hit at UK cinemas early last year, with a sequel quickly getting the greenlight in the hope of mopping up some more cash. Whether the follow-up will succeed is tought to tell, as you can’t help but feel the first film was slightly riding on the popularity of 3D, which has slightly waned since then. However with all things urban still in vogue, it’ll probably still find an appreciatice audience. It’s out March 2012, but the teaser trailer has now arrived, so click below to watch it.
