They’ve been parodying everything from The Hangover to Green Lantern all year, and now the final Muppets parody trailer arrives, which spreads out the fun making joke about the likes of Paranormal Activity and Twilight. It’s only a few weeks until the film arrives in time for Thanksgiving in the US, but in the UK we annoyingly have to wait until February, but we can still enjoy the parody fun.
Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax Trailer – Do we need a movie about a furry peanut?
I’m presuming The Lorax is a lot more famous in the US that he is in the UK, because this trailer does seem to assume we already know all about him, but it doesn’t spoil the enjoyment of stepping into this very colourful world, brought to life by the guys behind Despicable Me. The animated adventure follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world. Danny DeVito lends his vocal talents to the iconic title character of the Lorax, while Ed Helms will voice the enigmatic Once-ler. Also bringing their talents to the film are global superstars Zac Efron as Ted, the idealistic young boy who searches for the Lorax, and Taylor Swift as Ashley, the girl of Ted’s dreams. Rob Riggle will play financial king O’Hare, and beloved actress Betty White will portray Ted’s wise Grammy Norma. It’s due in UK cinemas July 27th, 2012.
New Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol Trailer – Plus a featurette about filming at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai
Did Tom Cruise blow up the Kremlin? I wouldn’t put it past him, but in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, he’s back as Ethan Hunt, and he and three other IMF members are framed for blowing up a big chunk of Moscow, and must go rogue in order to prove their innocence! As this trailer shows, it’s all action and Tom Cruise doing his stupid and much mocked running, and at least this admits there are other people in the movie than Cruise! Click below to watch the surprisingly exciting trailer, and underneath that is a featurette about filming at the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.
New 11-11-11 Trailer – Sesame Street never said the number 11 was so much trouble
It’s difficult to have much anticipation for 11-11-11, considering that the entire movie only exists because someone thought the 11th November 2011 would be a good day to release a film, and so Darren Lynn Bousman came up with a film to fit that. But hey, perhaps it’ll be okay. Following the tragic death of his wife, Sarah, and son, Cole, in a fire caused by an insane fan, famed American best-selling author Joseph Crone is suffering severe depression that prevents him from writing. While attending psychological support sessions, he meets Sadie, a young woman who has suffered a similar tragedy. One day, after a heart-warming conversation with Sadie, Joseph suffers a horrible car accident but comes out of it miraculously unscathed. The accident occurs at exactly 11:11 AM. Soon Joseph will discover that 11 is a number that was somehow important in his past life, and is doomed to appear more and more often in his daily existence. While the film will get an 11-11-11 release in the US, it’s not certainly when it’s hit the UK.
New Hugo Trailer – Latest look at Scrosese’s upcoming 3D treat
When a work-in-progress print of Hugo screened at the New York Film Festival recently, plenty of superlatives were thrown around. Many in attendance suggested this was the best live-action 3D movie yet, with director Martin Scorsese actually using the extra dimension to tell the story, rather than just having it there as a gimmick. We’ll have to wait until December 2nd to find out if that’s true, but a new trailer has popped up online with plenty of enchanting footage that makes it look like this is going to be a very beautiful movie. Click below to take a look.
In the Land of Blood and Honey Trailer – First look at Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut
Angelina Jolie sure didn’t pick a nice simple movie for her directorial debut, instead writing and helming a movie that deals with complex issues surrounding love and death, all set against the backdrop of the Bosnian War. In the Land of Blood and Honey tells the story of Danijel and Ajla, two people from different sides of a brutal ethnic conflict. Danijel, a soldier fighting for the Serbs, and Ajla, a Bosniak held captive in the camp he oversees, knew each other before the war, and could have found love with each other. However, as the armed conflict takes hold of their lives, their relationship grows darker, their motives and connection to one another ambiguous, their allegiances uncertain. There’s already some good buzz about the movie, which should reach the UK early next year, but click below for the trailer.
