When Eddie Murphy reads a script, something different must happen in his head to what goes on in everyone else’s. Indeed is someone told you this trailer was actually a spoof taking the piss out of dumb Hollywood movies, you’d probably believe it. In the film Jack McCall (Murphy) is a fast-talking literary agent who can close any deal, any time, any way. He has set his sights on New Age guru Dr. Sinja for his own selfish purposes. But Dr. Sinja is on to him, and Jack’s life comes unglued after a magical Bodhi tree mysteriously appears in his backyard. With every word Jack speaks, a leaf falls from the tree and he realizes that when the last leaf falls, both he and the tree are toast. Words have never failed Jack McCall, but now he’s got to stop talking and conjure up some outrageous ways to communicate or he’s a goner. And yes, that premise is as stupid as it sounds. A Thousand Words is due in cinemas next March.
Snow White and the Huntsman Trailer – Surprisingly awesome teaser for the upcoming fairytale flick
With rival Snow White movies lining up next year, the battle is on between them. Snow White & The Huntsman has a somewhat more difficult task and it hits cinemas three months after Tarsem’s Mirror Mirror. However after a wonderfully gothic banner arrived the other day and now this visually gorgeous trailer, it’s likely to be Huntsman that audiences are interested in (despite the presence of the always morose Kristen Stewart). Take a look at the trailer and prepare to be far more impressed that you ever expected to be by a Snow White movie. The movie arrives in cinemas June 2012. Oh, and in case you hadn’t guessed, the image above is a new poster for the movie.
The Muppets Go Bollywood – Yet another fun spoof from the fetly gang
We thought we’d seen the end of the fun Muppet parody trailer, but thanksfully another one has shown up, this time with the gang going a bit Bollywood! The films due out in the US imminently, but it doesn’t come to the UK until February 17th, 2012. Here’s the synopsis: ‘When Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater, they help Kermit reunite the Muppets to stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theatre.’
New Red Tails Trailer – Fresh look at George Lucas’ WWII aerial flick
After endless post-production delays and reports that producer George Lucas demanded huge amounts of reshoots on his long-planned movie about the legendary Tuskegee arimen, anticipation has certainly dropped for Ted Tail. However the trailers certainly make it look good! The film is about a crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program, who, having faced segregation and been kept mostly on the ground during World War II, are called into duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard. No official UK date has been set yet, but it arrives in the US on January 20th (and it’ll be interesting to see if it gets an Oscar qualifying run in LA before that, or if they just don’t bother).
Journey 2: The Mysterious Island Trailer – Josh Hutcherson & The Rock search for Michael Caine
Josh Hutcherson’s family certainly seems to be good at getting lost in fantastical places, as after having to Journey To The Center Of The Earth to look for his dad, he’s now off to a Mysterious Island trying to find his grandfather. Brendan Fraser bailed on this one after director Erik Brevig was replaced by Brad Peyton, and so this time Dwayne Johnson’s along for the ride, playing Hutcherson’s prospective stepfather, while Vanessa Hudgens and Luis Guzman also have to deal with various strange beasties on the island, all while looking for Michael Caine! It’s due in cinemas February 10th.
A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas UK Trailer – The stoners are back and getting festive
It’s just come out in the US and will be in UK cinemas on December 9th, but if you fancy a taste of A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas, we’ve got the new UK trailer right here. The boys are still getting into plenty of trouble, this time of the festive variety, and Neil Patrick Harris is back, once more playing his womanising alter-ego, who in an extra-postmodern twist is using the fact people think he’s gay to get into ladies’ pants.
