Aardman’s latest stop-motion treat is due in cinema in the spring, but now a new trailer for it has arrives. Titled here The Pirates: Band Of Misfit, but known in the UK as The Pirates: In An Adventure With Scientists, the film features Hugh Grant in his first animated role as the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a rag-tag crew at his side (Martin Freeman, Brendan Gleeson, Russell Tovey, and Ashley Jensen), and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter rivals Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek) to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It’s a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria (Imelda Staunton) and team up with a young Charles Darwin (David Tennant), but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
Mirror Mirror Trailer – First look at next year’s other Snow White movie
Last week we got the first trailer for Snow White & The Huntsman, which surprised many by how good it looked. Now we have a promo for next year’s other Snow White movie, Mirror Mirror, which is unlikely to get as good a reaction. While the Huntsman was all dark, gothic and brooding, this one goes more for colour and comedy. It may not appeal to adult tastes, but could score well with a family audience. The Tarsem Singh directed movie stars Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer and Nathan Lane and is due in cinemas next March, a few months ahead of its rival’s July debut.
Great New Happy Feet Two Trailer – Loads more penguiny fun coming!
I would have loved to have been at the meeting where they asked Brad Pitt and Matt Damon if they’d mind playing prawns in Happy Feet Two. However it went, they agreed, and now the movie is due in UK cinemas on December 2nd. But with the film out in the US on Friday, a great new trailer has arrived! In the film Mumble’s son, Erik, is struggling to realise his talents in the Emperor Penguin world, but is excited when he thinks he’s found a penguin that can fly. Meanwhile, Mumble and his family and friends discover a new threat their home – one that will take everyone working together to save them.
Titanic 3D Trailer – It’s going to sink once more next April
They promised its heart would go on and on, and now it’s holding to that, as Titanic arrives back in UK cinemas on April 15th, 2012 – the 100th anniversary of the sinking – but this time converted into three-dimensions.Now the trailer for the 3D re-release is here, but sadly on the interweb, it’s rather flat, so we don’t really get to appreciated whether the extra dimension helps things or not! There’s a new poster too, which you can see above.
New Brave Trailer – Longer look at Pixar’s summer 2012 treat
If one thing is certain in life, it’s that Pixar movies always look stunning gorgeous, and it certainly seems Brave will follow suit. We got a teaser a couple of months ago, but now Disney has released a full trailer for the movie. Here’s the synopsis: ‘A grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and signature Pixar humor, “Brave uncovers a new tale in the mysterious Highlands of Scotland where the impetuous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) defies an age-old custom and inadvertently unleashes chaos, forcing her to discover the meaning of true bravery before its too late.’ The film is due to hit UK cinemas August 17th, 2012.
Being Flynn Trailer – Robert De Niro goes artist and absent father
After the likes of Cirque Du Freak and Little Fockers, director Paul Weitz wants to show another side of himself with an adaptation of the memoir Another Bullshit Night in Suck City. Unsurprisingly the title has had to ben changed to somehting a little less evocative, so they’re calling it Being Flynn. The film follows Nick Flynn (Paul Dano) who is shocked to have his eccentric and long-absent father, Jonathan (Robert De Niro) reach out to him unexpectedly. Still feeling the loss of his mother (played in flashbacks by Julianne Moore) and in the midst of starting a new relationship with Denise (Olivia Thirlby), the last person Nick wants to see is his father. Slowly Nick comes to realise he has been given the chance to make a real future not only for himself, but for his struggling father too.
