Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie Red Band Trailer – Wonderful lunacy is on its way

6th December 2011 By Tim Isaac

While they’re somewhat of an acquired taste, US comedians Eric Wareheim and Tim Heidecker (who started off on the net before hitting American TV) have a lot of fans in the US. Enough in fact to get them a movie that’ll be out next year, and which has cameos from the likes of John C Reilly, Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. Tim and Eric are given a billion dollars to make a movie, but squander every dime… and the sinister Schlaaang corporation is pissed. Their lives at stake, the guys skip town in search of a way to pay the money back. When they happen upon a chance to rehabilitate a bankrupt mall full of vagrants, bizarre stores and a man-eating wolf that stalks the food court, they see dollar signs – a billion of them.

The Cabin In The Woods Trailer – You think you know the story? Joss Whedon begs to differ

6th December 2011 By Tim Isaac

Some people have suggested this trailer reveals a big twist in The Cabin In The Woods, but the truth is more that it shows this isn’t just you typical creepy house horror tale and there’s a lot more to it than that – as you’d expect from writer/producer Joss Whedon and director Drew Goddard (who wrote Cloverfield). The film’s been severely delayed due to MGM bankruptcy, but it’ll finally see the lit of day next April. In the movie, a group of friends go to a remote place in the woods, where things quickly turn terrifiying, in a film that’s keen to turn the horror genre inside-out.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel Trailer – Judi Dench, Maggie Smith & Tom Wilkinson head for an Indian old folks home

6th December 2011 By Tim Isaac

With a cast including Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith, Tom Wilkinson, Penelope Wilton, Celia Imrie and Ronald Pickup, you’d expect something ridiculously classy and highbrow, but The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel seems a whole lot more fun than that. Indeed it seems kind of like Carry On Abroad but with loads of Oscar winners. For a disparate group of English pensioners, retirement takes an unconventional turn when they are enticed by The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, a seemingly luxurious sanctuary for ‘the elderly and beautiful’ in Jaipur, India. On arrival, they discover that the hotel falls somewhat short of the idyll promised in the brochure, but they are gradually won over by the ever-optimistic young manager Sonny (Dev Patel), and embark on a new adventure, finding that life can begin again when you let go of the past. The film hits cinemas next February.

New Trailer For The Raven – John Cusack takes on Edgar Allan Poe

5th December 2011 By Tim Isaac

The Raven is potentially a very interesting movie, mixing real-life and fictional mystery together to create something new. The film stars John Cusack as Edgar Allan Poe, who joins forces with a young Baltimore detective (Luke Evans) to hunt down a mad serial killer who’s using Poe’s own works as the basis in a string of brutal murders, ensuring things like The Pit And the Pendulum become all too real. The film also feeds into the real-life mystery of when Poe went missing for a week, eventually turning up delerious on the street of Baltimore (when he had been due to go to New York), and dying a few days later, before anyone could find out what had happened. It’s due out next March, but click below for the new trailer.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Eight-Minute Trailer – Get your fill of David Fincher’s fab looking flick

5th December 2011 By Tim Isaac

A few weeks ago, a lucky few were treated to an eight-minute, extended trailer for David Fincher’s take on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Those who saw it gave great feedback, and it has been expected that it would leak online very quickly. However it’s taken longer than expected, but now it’s here. It’s definitely worth watching, if just to wallow in Fincher’s wonderful style. It certainly make you want to see the rest of the film. The movie revolves around a mystery concerning the long-unsolved disappearance of an heiress. A journalist (Daniel Craig) recently threatened with imprisoned due to a libel case and a young female hacker (Rooney Mara) try to solce the case, stirring up bundles of personal and industrial corruption along the way involving the powerful but slightly strange Vanger family. The movie is out on Boxing Day.
