Early trailers for The Grey made it seem oddly dreamy and ethereal, but this red band trailer is upping the intensity and going for the action jugular, as Liam Neeson and co. get thrust into the wilderness and have to face off against a pack of wolves. I can already see the press releases from the wildlife charities saying wolves aren’t really the bad guys. The movie sees Liam Neeson as part of an Alaska oil drilling team who struggle to survive after a plane crash strands them in the wild. Hunting the humans are a pack of wolves who see them as intruders. The film’s out on Friday.
Darling Companion Trailer – Diane Keaton & Kevin Kline lose their dog
Kevin Kline and Diane Keaton really, really like their dog in Darling Companion, as it would appear their characters’ entire marriage depends on them finding the mutt after it goes missing. Keaton is convinced her hubby, played by Kline, loves the dog more than her and he’s got to prove otherwise. Lawrence Kasdan’s film also stars Dianne Wiest, Richard Jenkins, Sam Shepard and Elisabeth Moss.
Project X Trailer – Partying gets rather intense in the Todd Phillips produced comedy
Cinema has a long tradition of films about parties getting out of hand, but Project X looks like it’s going to take things up a notch. Produced by Hangover helmer Todd Phillips and shot in a pseudo-documentary style, the film follows three seemingly anonymous high school seniors as they attempt to finally make a name for themselves. Their idea is innocent enough: throw a party that no one will forget… but nothing could prepare them for this party. Word spreads quickly as dreams are ruined, records are blemished and legends are born. The film is due out in the UK on March 2nd.
Jeff Who Lives At Home Trailer – Jason Segel really needs to get out of his mother’s basement
Mark and Jay Duplass have earned plenty of indie cred for the likes of The Puffy Chair and Cyrus, and now they’re coming back with Jeff Who Lives At Home, which stars Jason Segel, Ed Helms and Susan Sarandon. Dispatched from his basement room on an errand for his mother, 30-something slacker Jeff (Segel) might discover his destiny (finally) when he spends the day with his brother (Helms) as he tracks his possibly adulterous wife. It’s due out in the UK on April 20th, but for now enjoy the trailer and new poster.
Resident Evil: Retribution Trailer – Wow, doesn’t Sony make nice products (oh, and they made a film)!
This teaser for Resident Evil: Retribution may be the most shameless ever, as half of it is literally a plug for various Sony products. You can understand companies wanting corporate synergy, but this is a little ridiculous. At least it allows time for 30 seconds of footage from the movie, which looke like, well, a Resident Evil movie.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘The Umbrella Corporations deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human races last and only hope, ALICE (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.’
New American Reunion Trailer – The original cast is back together and getting nekkid
The Pie kids are back, although they’re not kids anymore! Now in their early 30s and (mostly) all settled down, they’re coming back for a high school reunion. In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasnt and that time and distance cant break the bonds of friendship. It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim and Michelle married while Kevin and Vicky said goodbye. Oz and Heather grew apart, but Finch still longs for Stiflers mom. Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce aboutand get inspired bythe hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend. The film’s due out April 6th.
