First Amazing Spider-man Clip Surfaces – Peter Parker has doorman issues

20th February 2012 By Tim Isaac

The first clip from the Amazing Spider-man has arrived, via the viral site markofthespider-man.com. If you were hoping for an effects filled fight scene you’ll be disappointed, as it simply features Peter Parker trying to get into Gwen Stacey’s apartment building, but having trouble with a snotty, overly security conscious doorman. Here’s the synopsis: ‘Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) is an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.’ The film’s out July 4th.

Prometheus International Trailer – Looking more epic than ever

17th February 2012 By Tim Isaac

The first trailer for Prometheus really played on it links to Alien (even if it’s still not clear exactly how the movie is linked to Alien, as all Ridley Scott will say is that it has ‘Alien DNA’), but this new teaser suggests it’ll be a movie on a somewhat grander scale than the claustrophobic sci-fi horror. It looks all kinds of cool, with grand vistas and a look like both feels like Alien, but which is also its own creation. The movie arrives in UK cinemas on June 1st.

Wanderlust Red Band Trailer – Paul Rudd & Jennifer Aniston get into the hippie spirit

17th February 2012 By Tim Isaac

It’s comedy time with Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston, and a trailer where you can’t tell if this film will be fun or just excruciating! George (Rudd) and Linda (Aniston) are an overextended, stressed out Manhattan couple. After George is downsized out of his job, they find themselves with only one option: to move in with George’s awful brother in Atlanta. On the way there, George and Linda stumble upon Elysium, an idyllic community populated by colourful characters who embrace a different way of looking at things. Money? It can’t buy happiness. Careers? Who needs them? Clothes? Only if you want them! Wanderlust hits UK cinemas March 2nd, 2012.

The Amazing Spider-man International Trailer – New footage from the web-slinging flick

16th February 2012 By Tim Isaac

Anticipation for The Amazing Spider-man jumped considerably when a new, rather spectacular trailer was launched a couple of weeks ago. Now a new international version of that trailer has been released, which features some new footage from the big summer movie. Billed as ‘untold stories’ from Spider-man rather than a remake of Sam Raimi’s movies, Andrew Garfield takes over the web-slinging and goes back to high school. It’ll hit cinemas July 3rd.

New G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer – It’s looking better than ever

16th February 2012 By Tim Isaac

Although I think the first G.I. Joe movie was unjustly maligned as it’s not a bad movie at all, Paramount knows that it’s got to make the follow-up look like something really special. They’re not doing a bad job so far, and now they’ve unleashed a new trailer which makes G.I. Joe: Retaliation look pretty cool. This trailer actually briefly acknowledges Channing Tatum’s in the film (he was absent from the first promo), as well as giving us a little more of the plot and suggesting that while there’d been talk of this film completely ignoring the first, it will follow-on from at least some of the plotline of that movie. G.I. Joe: Retaliation hits cinemas June 22nd.

Dark Tide Trailer – Halle Berry takes on Great White sharks!

15th February 2012 By Tim Isaac

Director John Stockwell must really like the water, as he’s following Blue Crush and Into The Blue with the shark thriller Dark Tide. In the movie Kate (Halle Berry) is a shark expert whose business has been failing since a shark attack killed a fellow diver under her command. Once dubbed “the shark whisperer,” Kate is haunted by the memory of the attack and unable to get back into the water. With bills piling up and the bank about to foreclose on Kate’s boat, Kate’s ex-boyfriend Jeff (Olivier Martinez) presents her with a lucrative opportunity: lead a thrill-seeking millionaire businessman on a dangerous shark dive…outside the cage. Battling her self-doubts and fear, Kate accepts the proposal – and sets a course for the world’s deadliest feeding ground: Shark Alley. Now a new trailer has arrived, so take a look!
