Now Is Good Trailer – Dakota Fanning deals with having a terminal illness

6th March 2012 By Tim Isaac

Films about people with terminal illnesses never sound like they’re going to be much fun, but they can be very rewarding. The latest movie bidding to move us is Now Is Good, which stars Dakota Fanning alongside a strong British cast, including Jeremy Irvine, Paddy Considine and Olivia Williams. Here’s the synopsis: ‘Tessa is seventeen and passionate about life. Diagnosed with a terminal illness, she determines to use every moment, compiling a catalogue of what a normal teenager would experience, including losing her virginity and taking drugs. With the help of her friend Zoey, she sets the list in motion. While her family deals with fear and grief, each in their own way, Tessa explores a whole new world. Falling in love with Adam, her new neighbour, wasn’t on the list, but it proves to be the most exhilarating experience of them all. Now Is Good will hit cinemas on May 25th.’ Take a look at the trailer below.

New Men In Black III Trailer – The aliens are causing problems in the past

6th March 2012 By Tim Isaac

May I just say that Josh Brolin looks scarily like a young version of Tommy Lee Jones in this Men In Black III trailer, to the point where you wonder if they’ve used CGI to increase the similarity. It’s a bit eerie. The first trailer for MiB3 wasn’t exactly thrilling, but now they’ve finished a lot more footage, ensuring this looks a lot more like the alien managing fun of the first two movies. In this one something has changed time so that Jones’ Agent K died in 1969, and Will Smith’s Agent J has to go back in time and sort it out. It hits cinemas May 25th.

Brave Japanese Trailer – Beauty and myth in Pixar’s latest

6th March 2012 By Tim Isaac

You’re probably going to have difficulty understanding what’s going on in this trailer for Brave, as it’s all in Japanese, but that just allows you to wallow in the stunningly beautiful imagery that Pixar’s latest looks like it’s going to be filled with. It’s full of new footage and well worth watching. Here’s the synopsis: ‘Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts. Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.’ It’s out in the UK on August 13th.

Watch 10-Minutes Of John Carter – Take a look at what happens before he gets to Mars

5th March 2012 By Tim Isaac

Disney’s big-budget sci-fi fantasy, John Carter, hits cinemas this Friday and to help prepare us, 10 minutes from the opening of the movie has popped up online, so we can see what happens to American Civil War veteran John before he gets mysteriously transported to Mars. Carter seems to be the very defnition of an angry young man, who isn’t having much fun in the Arizona territory, as while he’s looking for a cave full of gold, he’s got to deal with Bryan Cranston and his lovely blonde wig.

First Hunger Games Clip Debuts – Katniss shows off her archery skills

5th March 2012 By Tim Isaac

All the indicators suggest that the months of hype have worked and that The Hunger Games will hit it huge when it’s released on March 23rd, with some already forecasting a $100 million plus US opening for the movie. Now the first clip from the film has been released, which is short but shows Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) showing that she’s pretty impressive with a bow.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love. THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 16 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following.’
