The Amazing Spider-man ‘Super Preview’ – Four-minute look at the superhero reboot

15th May 2012 By Tim Isaac

While there were many groans when it was announced they were rebooting Spider-man so soon after Sam Raimi’s take on the character, the more we’ve seen, the cooler it’s looked, with Marc Webb’s film reinserting the wisecracking humour of the character, as well as having a rather exciting look, which is partway between comic book and reality. Now a very cool four-minute preview has shown up, which gives us a great look at the movie.

Here’s the latest synopsis: ‘The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.’ The film’s out July 4th.

Here’s the latest synopsis: ”The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). New The Odd Life of Timothy Green Trailer – Jennifer Garner & Joel Edgerton have a magic child

11th May 2012 By Tim Isaac

If a child just turned up on your doorstep, would you keep him, or would you phone child services? While 99.9% of the population would do the latter, Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton just decide to keep him, believing he’s the embodiment of a wish they made to have a child. Presumably their right, as this is a Disney movie and not some hard-hitting tale about weird, delusional parents. Now a new trailer for the film has arrived. It’s out in the US in August, but no UK date is set yet.

Gangster Squad Trailer – Awesome first promo for the star-studded thriller

10th May 2012 By Tim Isaac

Ever since the cast for Gangster Squad started coming together – Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone – it appeared it could be something special. Now we’ve got the trailer and it suggests the film will be extremely cool. Here’s the synopsis: ‘Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and – if he has his way – every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop…except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O’Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen’s world apart. Gangster Squad is a colorful retelling of events surrounding the LAPD’s efforts to take back their nascent city from one of the most dangerous mafia bosses of all time.’

Argo Trailer – First look at Ben Affleck’s hostage thriller

9th May 2012 By Tim Isaac

Ben Affleck has proven himself very adept as a director and on the evidence of this trailer, he may have another success on his hands with Argo. Based on true events, the thriller Argo chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis–the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades. It involved going to Iran saying they were location scouting for a fake sci-fi flick in order to smuggle the hostages out. It’s out October 12th.
