Kay (Meryl Streep) and Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones) are a devoted couple, but decades of marriage have left Kay wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband. When she hears of a renowned couple’s specialist (Steve Carell) in the small town of Great Hope Springs, she attempts to persuade her sceptical husband, a steadfast man of routine, to get on a plane for a week of marriage therapy. Just convincing the stubborn Arnold to go on the retreat is hard enough – the real challenge for both of them comes as they shed their bedroom hang-ups and try to re-ignite the spark that caused them to fall for each other in the first place. Momentum Pictures will release Hope Springs on 14th September 2012.
New Lawless Trailer Lands – Shia LaBeouf & Tom Hardy go bootlegging
Directed by John Hillcoat from a script by him and Proposition cohort Nick Cave, Lawless is based on Matt Bodurant’s book about the author’s grandfather and two great-uncles, who were part of a fierce criminal gang at the centre of the US’s moonshine trade during prohibition. The story also follows a writer named Sherwood Anderson, who is on the trail of the bootlegging gang. The film has a great cast, with Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain, and Mia Wasikowska onboard. It’ll hit UK cinemas on August 31st.

Cirque Du Soleil: World’s Away Trailer – James Cameron & Andrew Adamson join the circus
Here’s a film that could be enchanting, bizarre, a little bit up its own ass, or as with most things Cirque Du Soleil, a mix of all three. Written and directed by Andrew Adamson (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), and executive produced by Academy Award winning filmmaker James Cameron, the 3D film event features artistic and acrobatic performances from some of the most elaborate Cirque du Soleil productions. From this trailer it’s still tough to tell exactly what this film will be, but it appears it’ll be filled with beautiful footage.
New Rise Of The Guardians Trailer – Jack Frost and the Easter Bunny turn superheroes
Normally Dreamworks Animation films look like they’ll be fun but a bit lightweight and fluffy, however Rise Of The Guardian feels as if there’ll be a bit more too it than that, not least a more intricate and beautiful animation style. The film tells the story of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and Jack Frost – legendary characters with previously unknown extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children everywhere. Rise Of The Guardians is due out in November.
Jack Reacher Trailer – Tom Cruise gets intense
Tom Cruise has had a busy week. That’s because it was his 50th birthday yesterday. As I’m sure you’re aware, absolutely nothing else of interest has happened to him in the last few days, and there have been no rumours swirling around as to why that thing didn’t happen. So it’s a good time to release the trailer for Jack Reacher, as nobody is going to be concentrating on anything else about Cruise! The movie, which is out December 21st, sees Tom as Lee Childs’ exmilitary investigator, Jack Reacher. He looks into the case of a trained military sniper who shot five random victims, an investigator that gets ever deeper and darker. As the trailer proves, it looks like Cruise is in intense mode for this one.
