Jack And Diane has long been billed the ‘lesbian werewolf movie’, although that’s a bit of a misnomer. Now we get our first look at the movie, which is about the title character (June Temple and Riley Keough) who are two teenage girls that meet in New York City and spend the night kissing ferociously. Diane’s charming innocence quickly begins to open Jack’s tough skinned heart. But when Jack discovers that Diane is moving she pushes her away. Unable to grasp her new feelings, Diane’s emotions begin to cause unexplainable violent changes to her body. Through these awkward and insecure feelings, the two girls must struggle to turn their first love into an enduring one. There are elements of horror to the film, but to call it a ‘lesbian werewolf movie’ isn’t quite right. The film premiered at Tribeca in April, and will hopefully get a release later this year.

Life Of Pi Trailer – Take a look at Ang Lee’s gorgeous new film
If you’ve been to see a 3D movie in the past few weeks, you may have caught some great flying fish footage from Ang Lee’s upcoming Life Of Pi. While that’s not online yet, the first proper trailer has arrived, suggesting that while this is going to be an unusual film, it’s going to look utterly amazing. The film is based on Yan Martel’s Booker Prize winning book about Pi Patel (played by newcomer Suraj Sharma) who, after a shipwreck, shares a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker, a hyena, an injured zebra, and an orangutan (although we’ve only seen a tiger in the footage seen so far). The potential Oscar-bait movie is currently due out December 21st.
Watch A Six-Minute Anna Karenina Clip – Take a look at Joe Wright’s unusual take on the classic
Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina sounds quite unusual, with the director starting a new six-minute clip by saying the entire thing was shot inside a theatre, with the sets built inside, to allow actors to move from one place to another fluidly. It’s a unique way of doing things, which is probably why they’re trying to drum up interest with this clip.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘Keira Knightley stars as Anna Karenina in Joe Wrights version of Tolstoys epic love story. Adapted by Academy Award winner Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love), Jude Law plays Annas husband Aleksei Karenin and Aaron Johnson (Nowhere Boy) stars as Count Vronsky. Rounding out the cast are Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire), Matthew Macfadyen (Pride & Prejudice), Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), Alicia Vikander (The Seventh Son), two-time Academy Award nominee Emily Watson, Olivia Williams (Hanna), and Ruth Wilson (Luther).
‘The story unfolds in its original late-19th-century Russia high-society setting and powerfully explores the capacity for love that surges through the human heart, from the passion between adulterers to the bond between a mother and her children. As Anna questions her happiness, change comes to her family, friends, and community.
‘Anna Karenina marks Wrights fourth film with Working Title, following the award-winning box office successes Pride & Prejudice and Atonement and The Soloist. The film is produced by Working Title co-chairmen Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner and reunites them with Paul Webster, all three of whom produced Wrights first two films Pride & Prejudice and Atonement.’
Batchelorette Trailer – Isla Fisher, Kirsten Dunst & co. get wedding fever
On the night before an old friend’s wedding, three frisky bridesmaids go searching for a little fun but find much more than they bargained for. With lovely Becky (Rebel Wilson) set to marry her handsome sweetheart, Dale (Hayes MacArthur), the remaining members of her high school clique reunite for one last bachelorette bacchanal in the Big Apple. Regan (Kirsten Dunst) is an overachieving, ueber-Maid of Honor who’s secretly smarting over the fact that she’s not the first to marry, while Gena (Lizzy Caplan) is a whip-smart sarcastic who’s actually a closet romantic, and Katie (Isla Fisher) is a ditzy beauty who loves the good life. But when Becky insists on keeping the bachelorette party tame, the women proceed with an after-hours celebration of their own. It should be out later this year.
The Imposter Trailer – Take a look at the much-talked about movie
The Imposter has sparked huge amounts of debate at festival screening at the likes of Sundance and EIFF, and we’ll be able to find out for ourselves when it hits UK cinemas on August 24th. It’s 1994: a 13-year-old boy disappears from his home in San Antonio, Texas. Three and a half years later, he is found alive, thousands of miles away, in Spain. Disoriented and quivering with fear, he divulges his shocking story of kidnap and torture. His family is overjoyed to bring him home. But all is not what it seems. Sure, he has the same tattoos, but he looks decidedly different, and he now speaks with a strange accent. Why doesn’t the family seem to notice these glaring inconsistencies? It’s only when an investigator starts asking questions that this astounding true story takes an even stranger turn.
