While Clint Eastwood said he was retiring from acting following Gran Torino, he’s back with Trouble With The Curve, the directorial debut of his longtime producer Robert Lorenz. Eastwood plays an ailing baseball scout in his twilight years takes his daughter (Amy Adams) along for one last recruiting trip. Justin Timberlake also stars. It’s currently due for UK release on November 30th, 2012.

Gerard Butler gets his David Beckham on as a charming, down-on-his luck former soccer star who returns home to put his life back together. Looking for a way to rebuild his relationship with his son, he gets roped into coaching the boy’s soccer team. But his attempts to finally become an “adult” are met with hilarious challenges from the attractive “soccer moms” who pursue him at every turn. The film co-stars Jessica Biel, Dennis Quaid and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Zero Dark Thirty Trailer – First look at Kathryn Bigelow’s seeking Osama movie
Kathryn Bigelow’s Hurt Locker follow-up, Zero Dark Thirty, has already proven controversial due to the supposedly priviledged access President Obama gave the filmmakers to the operation to hunt down Osama Bin Laden. Now the first trailer for the movie is here. The film focuses on the black ops mission to capture or kill Osama bin Laden, which culminated in his death during a high-stakes raid on his compound in Pakistan. Kyle Chandler, Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton and Mark Strong star.
On The Road International Trailer – Fresh look at the Jack Kerouac adaptation arrives
There’s been a lot of talk about Walter Salles’ adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s classic On The Road, with many suggesting it shouldn’t be made into a film, others being wary about the cast, while many have been avidly looking forward to it. Now a new look at Walter Salles’ adaptation has arrived, so we can get another hint at the tone of the film and it’s rather sepia colour palette. The film follows Sal Paradise (Sam Riley), an aspiring New York writer who meets Dean Moriarty (Garrett Hedlund), a devastatingly charming ex-con, who’s married to the very liberated and seductive Marylou (Kristen Stewart). Sal and Dean bond instantly. Determined not to get locked in to a constricted life, the two friends cut their ties and take to the road with Marylou. Thirsting for liberty, the three young people head off in search of the world, of other encounters, and of themselves. It’s currently due out on the UK on October 12th.
Nobody Walks Trailer – John Krasinski has relationship issues
Nobody Walks premiered at Sundance, but it’s only now the first trailer has arrived, ahead of a US release on October 12th. The film follows Martine (Olivia Thirlby), a 23-year-old artist from New York, who arrives in Los Angeles to stay in the pool house of a family living in the hip and hilly community of Silver Lake. Peter (John Krasinski), the father, has agreed to help Martine complete sound design on her art film as a favour to his wife. Martine innocently enters the seemingly idyllic life of this open-minded family with two kids and a relaxed Southern California vibe. Like a bolt of lightning, her arrival sparks a surge of energy that awakens suppressed impulses in everyone and forces them to confront their own fears and desires.
The Paperboy Trailer – Efron, Kidman & McConaughey star in Lee Daniel’s film
Lee Daniel’s The Paperboy debuted at Cannes, but it’s only now we’re getting a trailer, ahead of its US release in October (no UK date is yet set). The film is about a directionless young man (Zac Efron) who helps his reporter brother (Matthew McConaughey) investigate the possible wrongful conviction of a man on death row (John Cusack), and in the process, falls for the woman whom the convict has been romancing through prison correspondence. It should be out later this year.
