Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle Trailer – Dwayne Johnson is a teen boy & Jack Black gets gender-swapped

20th September 2017 By Tim Isaac

In the last few months there’s been a lot of talk about how Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle will respect the original and follow the spirit of the Robin Williams movie and his character. However, the trailers have suggested we’ll be dealing with a very different kind of film.

This time around a bunch of teens get morphed into a Jumanji videogame, which involves a nerdy teen boy becoming Dwayne Johnson, and a hot girl suddenly finding herself as Jack Black. And as the new trailer shows, the girl inside Jack has the hots for Johnson.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji –Jumanji plays you. They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever…’

The movie is due out in December. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

Red Sparrow Trailer – Jennifer Lawrence turns killer Russian spy

16th September 2017 By Tim Isaac

Jennifer Lawrence is busy dividing audiences in cinemas this weekend with mother!, a movie that some say is too mainstream for the art crowd, but too arty for the mainstream crowd, resulting in a lot of viewers genuinely hating it, despite a decent critical reception.

Next year she’ll also be seen in a slightly different role, as a Russian spy in Red Sparrow, which reteams her with Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay director Francis Lawrence.

Here’s the sysopsis: ‘Dominika Egorova (Jennifer Lawrence) is drafted against her will to become a “sparrow,” a trained seductress in the Russian security service. Dominika learns to use her body as a weapon, but struggles to maintain her sense of self during the dehumanizing training process. Finding her power in an unfair system, she emerges as one of the program’s strongest assets. Her first target is Nate Nash (Joel Edgerton), a CIA officer who handles the agency’s most sensitive infiltration of Russian intelligence. The two young operatives fall into a spiral of attraction and deception, which threatens their careers, allegiances and the security of both countries.

‘Based on the book by former CIA officer Jason Matthews, “Red Sparrow” reunites Jennifer Lawrence with her “Hunger Games” director, Francis Lawrence with Joel Edgerton, Matthias Schoenaerts, Charlotte Rampling, Jeremy Irons, and Mary Louise Parker rounding out the cast.’

The film is due out March 2018. [Read more…]

First Look At Stranger Things’ David Harbour As A Rebooted Hellboy

16th September 2017 By Tim Isaac

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Quite a few people were annoyed a couple of months ago when it was revealed that any faint hopes that Ron Perlman and Guillermo Del Toro would complete their Hellboy trilogy had been extinguished, as the character was getting a film reboot with Stranger Things star David Harbour as the good-guy demon.

Now the first look at the actor in character has been released, showing that while there are definitely differences, they haven’t strayed too far from the look Perlman and Del Toro went with.

There will be other differences too, as Neill Marshall is directed, and we’ve been promised that this time around the movie will be more violent and ‘R’ rated. Harbour himself released the image on Twitter, along with the message, ‘Please allow to introduce myself, I’m a man of wealth and taste…’.

Alongside Harbour, Ian McShane will play Hellboy’s adoptive human father, Trevor Bruttenholm, while Milla Jovovich will be the movie’s main villain, the Blood Queen. No release date has been set as yet, but expect it sometime in 2018, or early 2019. [Read more…]
