Hotel Artemis Trailer – Jodie Foster runs an ER for criminals

16th April 2018 By Tim Isaac

When you read the synopsis for Hotel Artemis, it sounds like it should be part of the John Wick universe, but it must have a little more going for it than that to bring in a cast including Jodie Foster, Sterling K. Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto, Jeff Goldblum, Charlie Day, and Dave Bautista. Now we can take a look at the film with the first trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Jean Thomas, aka THE NURSE (Jodie Foster) is the manager of the Hotel Artemis, an ultra-exclusive, members-only hospital hidden in a hotel redolent of faded ‘20s glamour. Tough, sharp and utterly fearless, The Nurse treats an assortment of assassins, gunrunners, thieves and gangsters in an unexpected state-of-the-art emergency room capable of providing a new liver with a 3-D printer or injecting a patient with nanobots that heal from the inside out. With the help of her towering assistant EVEREST, The Nurse wrangles some of the most dangerous criminals in the world, from sultry French assassin NICE and international arms dealer ACAPULCO, to bank robbers WAIKIKI and his brother HONOLULU.

‘One night as a violent riot rages on the streets of Los Angeles, legendary crime boss Orian Franklin, aka NIAGARA, arrives needing immediate treatment after a failed attempt on his life. Niagara’s sudden arrival creates a violent clash among the criminals in the hospital, with one ‘patient’ having a particularly deadly motive for checking into the hotel. The Nurse makes a decision that could jeopardize the future of the ER and everyone in it. Now the safest place for criminals in the city has become the most dangerous.’

The film hits cinemas on July 20th. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

New Ocean’s Eight Trailer – Sandra Bullock leads a star-studded female team on a heist

15th April 2018 By Tim Isaac

Synopsis: ‘Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter team up in the action adventure Ocean’s 8. Five years, eight months, 12 days…and counting. That’s how long Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) has been devising the biggest heist of her life.

‘She knows what it’s going to take—a team of the best in their field, starting with her partner-in-crime Lou Miller (Cate Blanchett). Together, they recruit a crew of specialists: jeweller Amita (Kaling); street con Constance (Awkwafina); expert fence Tammy (Paulson); hacker Nine Ball (Rihanna); and fashion designer Rose (Bonham Carter). The target is a cool $150 million dollars in diamonds—diamonds that will be around the neck of world-famous actress Daphne Kluger (Hathaway), who will be centerstage at the event of the year, the Met Gala.

‘The plan is rock solid, but everything will need to be flawless if the team is going to get in and get away with the ice. All in plain sight. “Ocean’s 8” also stars James Corden as an insurance investigator trying to put the pieces together, and Richard Armitage as Kluger’s unwitting date at the Gala.’

The film hits UK cinemas on 22nd June. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

Hot Summer Nights Trailer – Timothee Chalamet gets into dealing pot

14th April 2018 By Tim Isaac

Timothee Chalamet really has come out of nowhere in the last year, scoring an Oscar nomination for Call Me By Your Name, whilst also appearing in the much praised Lady Bird and alongside Christian Bale in Hostiles. Now he’s taking the lead in a romantic thriller, although some will be sad the romance isn’t with Armie Hammer this time.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Set in Cape Cod over one scorching summer, Hot Summer Nights follows Daniel (Timothée Chalamet), a shy out-of-towner who gets in over his head flipping weed with the neighborhood rebel (Alex Roe) while pursuing his new business partner’s enigmatic sister (Maika Monroe). With a hurricane looming in the wings, tensions rise against a backdrop of drive-ins, arcades, and crashed parties as the stakes (and temperatures) grow ever higher.’

Hot Summer Nights arrives in the US in June. It’s not clear when it will arrive in the UK. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]
