WIN! The Woman Signed Poster – Plus three copies of the challenging horror to give away on Blu-ray

13th October 2011 By Tim Isaac

Director Lucky McKee’s harrowing but darkly comic study of the darkness of human nature, The Woman, has polarised opinions since its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. The film’s journey to the UK has taken in a premiere at FrightFest, where it was one of the most talked about and enthusiastically received films, a UK-wide cinema release and from 17th October 2011, The Woman will be available to buy on DVD and Blu-ray.

To celebrate we have a limited edition cinema poster signed by Lucky McKee and Pollyanna McIntosh (who plays the titular Woman) and a Blu-ray to give away to one top prize winner, plus 2 runners-up will receive a copy of the film on Blu-ray.

Find out more at the official website – http://www.thewomanfilm.com/

In the film, when a successful country lawyer captures and attempts to “civilize” the last remaining member of a violent clan that has roamed the Northeast coast for decades, he puts the lives of his family in jeopardy.  Not that the lawyer and his kin are completely innocent either.

WIN! War Games On DVD – Three copies of the horror tale to give away

3rd October 2011 By Tim Isaac

Torturous and terrifying, War Games is a twisted horror story – inspired by true events – which sees an innocent group of friends hunted down by psychopathic ex-soldiers, who turn their country break into a bloody nightmare. When the adventure seeking group head off for a light-hearted weekend of mock warfare, they have no idea of the fatal traps laid out for them by heavily armed hunters who appear to be tracking their every move.

Finding themselves caught up in a deadly game of hide and seek, but clueless as to why they are being targeted, the group’s mock guns and ammunition are no match for their unseen predators’ stash of barbaric weapons and landmines. As the murderers begin to pick them off one by one, slaughtering them in increasingly gruesome and barbaric ways, the group realise that deep inside the impenetrable forest, nobody is coming to save them.

Petrified and powerless to stop the escalating violence, the victims become embroiled in a macabre mind game that will see them win, or die. As their desperation grows, so too does the frenzied and graphic horror on screen. Viewers will be gripped as the group battles it out against an almost inhuman, totally insane foe.

Witness the bloodshed and torture of this warped War Game when it is released for the first time on Blu-ray and DVD from 3rd October 2011. However we’ve got three copies of the movie on DVD to give away! If you’d like the chance to win, just sign in to the site below (or click here to register) and answer the multiple choice question (see below for more details on how to enter). The competition closes on October 16th, so get answering and good luck!

WIN! The Event – The Complete Series On DVD – Three copies of the ambitious sci-fi show to give away

29th September 2011 By Tim Isaac

Aliens have arrived but they’re being hidden away from us! It’s a conspiracy theorist’s dream, and it’s what’s happened in the world of The Event – the ambitious sci-fi show that tells us extraterrestrials crash landed on Earth decades ago but have been locked up.

However it’s time for them to be introduced into society, although that turns out to be the least of the changes our planet might be subjected to. After a successful run on Channel 4 earlier this year, the complete series hits DVD and Blu-ray on October 3rd, and we have three copies of the DVD box set to give away!

The box set captures every plot twist from the moment Sean Walker’s (Jason Ritter) would-be fiancé Leila (Sarah Roemer) mysteriously disappears to President Elias Martinez’s (Blair Underwood) dangerous decision to release the extraterrestrials, led by Sophia (Laura Innes), into society. With shadowy groups operating on both the alien and human sides, as well as a whole host of characters caught up in ever-changing mysterious events, it’s a show that tries to out-Lost Lost with its clever and complex machinations.

If you’d like the chance to win one of the three 22-episode DVD box sets we’ve got to give away, just sign in to the site below (or click here to register) and answer the multiple choice question (see below for more details on how to enter). The competition closes on October 12th, so get answering and good luck!
