On intercepting an alley brawl, Erik Kernan Jr. (Hartnett) comes across an old homeless man (Jackson) who calls himself The Champ and claims to be the heavyweight boxer Bob Satterfield, who was ranked at no. 3 in the world in the mid 1950s. Erik writes an article with the help of the old fighter to write his biopic and retells heroic stories about matches of the past.
As Kernans article gets syndicated to much critical acclaim, significant offers swarm in to further his career. However, things arent always as they seem and Eriks good fortune quickly takes a downward turn and his morals are brought into question.

OK, it’s January and it’s all a bit dismal but at the end of this month Perfect Sense is released on DVD. If Ewan McGregor and Eva Green can manage to find love as the world is crashing down around them in Perfect Sense, then we can certainly get through January.
