Bale & Cooper In Talks For American Bullsh*t – The David O’Russell movies gets a cast

19th April 2012 By Tim Isaac

With David O’Russell putting the finishing touches on The Silver Linings Playbook, there’s been a lot of interest in what he’ll move onto next. He’s got quite a few movies in the works, but now it appear American Bullshit has moved towards the front of the pack, with Deadline reporting Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper are now attached to star and Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures is putting together a deal to finance the movie.

Eric Singer’s based on a true story script, which has been around for a while and at one point was going to be helmed by Ben Affleck, centres on a con artist who goes to work for the FBI to bust open a wide-ranging conspiracy case, which reaches from Washington D.C. to Atlantic City. The sting ended up taking down several dodgy US congressmen.

The $30-$40 million movie will hopefully shoot in January, although with O’Russell having deals on several other pictures too, it’s likely something’s going to have to move around if they’re going to keep to that schedule.

Your Sister’s Sister Trailer – Mark Duplass and Emily Blunt get bittersweet

19th April 2012 By Tim Isaac

A year after his brother Tom’s death, Jack (Mark Duplass) is an emotionally unstable slacker. When he makes a scene at a memorial party, Tom’s ex-girlfriend Iris (Emily Blunt) offers up her family cabin on an island in the Pacific Northwest so Jack can seek catharsis in solitude. Once there, however, he runs into Iris’ sister Hannah (Rosemarie DeWitt), a lesbian reeling from the abrupt end of a seven-year relationship who finds solace in the affable Tom’s unexpected presence, and the two bond over a long night of drinking. The blurry evening concludes with an awkward sexual incident made worse by Iris’ sudden presence at the cabin the next morning, which sets into motion a twisted tale of ever-complicated relationships. The film hits the UK on June 29th.

New Full Cosmopolis Trailer – Robert Pattinson wants a haircut but gets much more in Cronenberg’s movie

19th April 2012 By Tim Isaac

There were a lot of raised eyebrows when David Cronenberg cast Robert Pattinson in Cosmopolis, largely because it seemed such a jump from the world of Twilight. However as people started to charge their mind when the teaser trailer debuted, and this new French trailer is likely to further convince people this will show a different side to Pattinson and it’s likely to be intense! The film, based on Don DeLillo’s book, sees R-Patz as young billionaire Eric Packer, who starts out just wanting to get a haircut, but as the day progresses and he travel around New York, he must deal with the fallout from the decisions he’s made in his life. Cosmopolis will compete at Cannes in May should be out in cinemas later this year and it look like it’s gonna be rather unusual.

Skyfall Shanghai Set Video – Get the latest from the new Bond adventure

19th April 2012 By Tim Isaac

It wouldn’t be Bond if the production didn’t jet all over the world (although always coming back to its UK base, of course), and Skyfall is doing just that, with a new set video just released from the film’s Shanghai location shoot. The movie will hit cinemas on October 26th, but whet your appetite with the latest behind the scene look.

Magic Mike Trailer – Tatum, Pettyfer, Bomer and McConaughey get their stripper on!

19th April 2012 By Tim Isaac

I think it’s safe to say that a lot of women and gay men are looking forward to Magic Mike, if only because Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew Bomer, Matthew McConaughey and more play strippers! The trailer suggests there’s some sort of romance type plot too, but I don’t think anyone actually cares about that, or that much admired director Steven Soderbergh is behind the camera. Nope, they just want the buff blokes to get their kit off! Partly based on Tatum’s experiences as a young male stripper, the film sees him mentoring a newbie (Pettyfer) and apparently having romantic problems. The film hits UK cinemas July 13th.
