Shortly after Steve Jobs died it looked like there was going to be a real race to see which of two biopics would make it to cinemas first. While the Ashton Kutcher starring Job is already over a year old, the one with a script by Aaron Sorkin is still in the works.
Back in April Danny Boyle signed up to direct, and now he may have snared his lead – a man rumoured for the role some time ago who now appears to be coming aboard, Christian Bale. Boyle had been in talks with Leo DiCaprio, but when things stalled they went back to Bale, who seems interested, according to THR.
The Steve Jobs biopic will be based on Walter Isaacsons biography, which was written following numerous interview with the man himself and those around him. Sorkin has said that the movie will centre around three key speeches, where Jobs announced the innovative Apple products Mac, NeXT, and the original iPod. Apples other co-founder, Steve Wozniak, is serving as a consultant on the film.
