Oh dear, Keanu Reeves is going to try to do some proper acting again. Deadline reports he’s signed up to star in the courtroom drama The Whole Truth. The movie had a massive spanner thrown in the works in April when Daniel Craig dropped out of the lead role just a few days before filming was due to begin.
That caused a delay, but now Reeves has stepped into the role and the shoot will now begin next month. It’s still now known why Craig left.
René Zellweger, Gabriel Basso and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are still on board for the legal drama, which is about a defence attorney (Reeves) who is fighting to acquit his teenage client, who is in trial for the murder of his wealthy father.
Courtney Hunt (Frozen River) is directing from a screenplay by Nicholas Kazan.
