Back in October, Leonardo DiCaprio signed up to develop an adaptation of Jo Nesbo’s novel, Snow On Blood, which he was eyeing to star in. He’s still interesting in appearing in the movie and now he’s lined up a director, as Deadline reports that Safe House and the upcoming Child 44’s Daniel Espinosa is in talks to star.
The book is about a hitman who is tasked with killing his boss wife. However an unexpected problem arises when he begins to fall in love with his mark. The novel is set to be published this spring, with a sequel, Blood On The Snow 2: More Blood, already planned for in 2015.
To make things a little more interesting, Nesbø wrote both books under the pseudonym Tom Buchanan, who is set to become the victim in his 2016 book, The Kidnapping.
Leonardo DiCaprio is producing alongside his Appian Way Productions partner Jennifer Davisson Killoran, as well as Langley Park’s Jennifer Davisson Killoran. It’s not known when it might shoot.
