The comedy Central Intelligence has been doing the round in Hollywood for several years, but now it’s being given some new impetus as THR reports that Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, We’re the Millers, Easy A) is set to direct.
Ed Helms has been attached to star for a couple of years, but put the breaks on the project when The Hangover became a hit. With his schedule full of sequels to that movie and The Office, Central Intelligence went on the backburner, however with both of those now completed, he has time for the film. The movie is about a dim accountant who is thrown into a world of international espionage after reconnecting with an old friend on Facebook.
Ike Barinholtz and Dave Stassen wrote the original script, but now Thurber will given it a final polish before it shoot sometime next year.
