After years of planning, it looked like Jurassic Park IV was finally going ahead, with a 2014 release date and Colin Trevorrow set to direct. However a few weeks ago Universal put it on hold indefinitely, while they sorted out issues with the script.
However now at the annual Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, it’s been revealed that the movie is still alive and well, and is now slated for a 2015 release. It was also revealed that it will be shot in 3D. Universal hasn’t confirmed an exact release date, but it seems likely they will aim for a summer 2015 debut.
The first inkling that things were back in motion came last week when director Colin Trevorrow tweeted that he was, ‘Back at work today, toys from 20 years ago waiting in my office. Thanks @ledoctor for keeping them in the box.’
Colin Trevorrow is directing from a screenplay by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes). No cast members have been confirmed yet.
