A couple of years ago, Michael Mann was planning to direct a movie called Gold, but he left the project behind quite a while ago. Now Spike Lee is taking it on, according to TheWrap, with Paul Haggis (Crash) on board as a producer.
The film is about a real-life story from 1993, following ‘following a rough-around-the-edges prospector who stumbles onto one of the largest gold mines in the world in the Indonesian jungle.’ However this turned into a scandal after the Bre-X Mineral Corporation made false claims about the gold.
There’s no news on when the movie might shoot.
