When Shia LaBeouf said a few months ago that he was done with Hollywood, many thought that many he’d only make little arty movies from now on, but it appears he’s just done with films like Transformers. Deadline reports he’s signed up for a movie that may not break the box office, but has decent commercial prospects.
The movie is Villain, which Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) has just signed on to direct, with the project being put together as a vehicle for LaBeouf. Shia will play one of two brothers who reunite under mysterious circumstances in a merciless wilderness.
Unfortunately there’s no more plot details than that on Josh Zetumer’s script, or any info on who will play the other brother (it’s suggested somebody will be cast soon).
The project is being sold at Cannes, although there’s no news on when they hope to shoot.
